The present invention provides a resin composition containing (A) an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer and (B) an unsaturated aldehyde (B), in which the content of the unsaturated aldehyde (B) with respect to the resin composition containing the ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer is 0.01 ppm or more and 100 ppm or less. The unsaturated aldehyde (B) is preferably crotonaldehyde, 2,4-hexadienal, 2,4,6-octatrienal or a combination thereof. In addition, it is preferred that the resin composition further contains a boron compound, and the content of the boron compound is 100 ppm or more and 5,000 ppm or less. Also, it is preferred that the resin composition further contains a conjugated polyene compound, and the content of the conjugated polyene compound is 0.01 ppm or more and 1,000 ppm or less.

Provided are a resin composition, a production method thereof, and a molded product and a multilayer structure each including such a resin composition. The resin composition enables: even in the case in which a film formation temperature is high, excessive elevation of torque to be inhibited with occurrence of neck-in during film formation being prevented; a molded product superior in appearance characteristics to be formed continuously for a long time period, with defects such as fish eyes and streaks being prevented; and further a thermoformable multilayer structure to be produced continuously for a long time period, the thermoformable multilayer structure being capable of providing a thermoformed product superior in appearance characteristics. A resin composition containing: an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer (A) having an ethylene unit content of 20 to 60 mol %; and a boron compound (B), the boron compound (B) including a free boric acid (C), with a content of the boron compound (B) with respect to the ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer (A) being 100 ppm or more and 5,000 ppm or less in terms of orthoboric acid, and a proportion of the free boric acid (C) in the boron compound (B) being 0.1% by mass or more and 10% by mass or less in terms of orthoboric acid.

Provided is a thermoformed container having a superior appearance as a result of inhibition of coloring and generation of defects during the melt molding, having sufficient strength, and further having a self-purge feature in a production process. The thermoformed container includes an EVOH layer (A) containing an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer (I) as a principal component, wherein the EVOH layer (A) contains a carbonyl compound (II), the carbonyl compound (II) is an unsaturated aldehyde (II-1), a saturated aldehyde (II-2), a saturated ketone (II-3) or a combination thereof, and the content of the carbonyl compound (II) in the EVOH layer (A) is 0.01 ppm or greater and 100 ppm or less. The carbonyl compound (II) is preferably an unsaturated aldehyde (II-1), and the unsaturated aldehyde (II-1) is preferably an unsaturated aliphatic aldehyde.

Provided is a resin composition that is superior in retort resistance as well as inhibitory effects on the odor and generation of burnt deposits in an operation over a long time period. The resin composition contains: an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer (A) having an ethylene content of 20 mol % or greater and 60 mol % or less; a polyamide (B); a carboxylic acid metal salt (C); and a saturated carbonyl compound (D) having 3 to 8 carbon atoms, wherein the saturated carbonyl compound (D) is a saturated aldehyde (D-1), a saturated ketone (D-2) or a combination thereof, the mass ratio (A/B) of the ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer (A) to the polyamide (B) is 60/40 or greater and 95/5 or less, the content of the carboxylic acid metal salt (C) with respect to the resin content in terms of metal element equivalent is 1 ppm or greater and 500 ppm or less, and the content of the saturated carbonyl compound (D) with respect to the resin content is 0.01 ppm or greater and 100 ppm or less.

Provided is a resin composition that achieves superior appearance characteristics such as a color of a film end (or a roll end) after melt molding, film-breaking resistance, blocking resistance, vapor deposition defects-inhibiting properties, and adhesive strength of a vapor deposition layer. The resin composition contains: an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer; inorganic particles; and an aliphatic carbonyl compound having 3 to 8 carbon atoms, in which the content of the inorganic particles is 50 ppm or greater and 5,000 ppm or less, the aliphatic carbonyl compound is at least one selected from the group consisting of a saturated aldehyde, an unsaturated aldehyde and a saturated ketone, and the content of the aliphatic carbonyl compound is 0.01 ppm or greater and 100 ppm or less. The inorganic particles preferably contain a metal element which is at least one selected from the group consisting of silicon, aluminum, magnesium, zirconium, cerium, tungsten and molybdenum.

The resin composition contains: an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer (EVOH) (A) having an ethylene content of 20 mol % or greater and 50 mol % or less; EVOH (B) having an ethylene content of 30 mol % or greater and 60 mol % or less; and a saturated carbonyl compound (C) having 3 to 8 carbon atoms, wherein the saturated carbonyl compound (C) is a saturated aldehyde (C-1), a saturated ketone (C-2) or a combination thereof, a value obtained by subtracting the ethylene content of the EVOH (A) from the ethylene content of the EVOH (B) is 8 mol % or greater, the mass ratio (A/B) of the EVOH (A) to the EVOH (B) is 60/40 or greater and 95/5 or less, and the content of the saturated carbonyl compound (C) with respect to the resin content is 0.01 ppm or greater and less than 100 ppm.
