摘要: A solid state laser apparatus and a laser machining apparatus are provided to provide high power laser beam having an excellent condensing performance at high efficiency and with high reliability. In the solid state laser apparatus, a recess is provided in a supporter disposed on a slab side surface at an excitation area corresponding portion. A high reflectance body having a cooling water filtrating groove is disposed in the recess to contact with a slab facing surface with pressure. The supporter contacts slab longitudinal both ends with pressure through a silicon rubber plate which is transparent to excitation light. A transparent silicon rubber O-ring is disposed to extend over an entire peripheral portion of a plane formed by a slab surface including the supporter pressure contacting porting and the supporter so as to seal cooling water and elastically support the slab.

摘要: A solid state laser apparatus comprises a laser medium having a pair of optically flat surfaces confronting to each other, and side surfaces intersecting the optically flat surfaces along an optical axis, the laser medium having a rectangular cross section; heat insulators adhered to the side surfaces of the laser medium; and reflective films for shielding the thermal insulators from pumping light. A solid state laser apparatus may comprise heat conductors bonded to the side surfaces of the laser medium, the heat conductors removing heat which occurs at bonding surfaces, the amount of removed heat from the side surfaces being smaller than that from the optically flat surfaces.

摘要: This invention relates to a solid laser device with a slab-shaped laser medium. One example of a solid laser device according to the invention, comprises: a slab-shaped laser medium having one pair of optically smooth surfaces confronting each other through the optical path; first and second mirrors arranged on the optical path in such a manner that the first and second mirrors are confronted with each other through the laser medium; a resonator which forms an unstable resonator in the direction of width of the laser medium, and a low order stable resonator in the direction of thickness of the laser medium; and laser beam emergence medium for taking a laser beam out of the a resonator and outputting the laser beam from the device. Another example comprises: a slab-shaped laser medium having a pair of optically smooth surfaces confronting each other through the optical path; first and second mirrors arranged on the optical path in such a manner that the first and second mirrors are confronted with each other through the laser medium; a resonator which forms unstable resonators in the direction of width of the laser medium and in the direction of thickness of the same; and laser beam emergence medium for taking a laser beam out of the a resonator and outputting the laser beam from the device. Accordingly, the solid laser devices can output a high power laser beam excellent in convergence, thus being applicable to precision laser machining operations.

摘要: A solid state laser apparatus is provided to generate a high quality and high power laser beam, and a laser machining apparatus is provided to perform laser machining by a laser beam generated from the solid state laser apparatus. In the solid state laser apparatus, a laser resonator includes a solid state component cooled in a cylindrical pipe by contacting liquid which is introduced through an inflow opening and discharged through an outflow opening, the solid state component having larger refractive index than that of the liquid, a light source turned ON by a power source to excite the solid state component, and an optical system transmitting light from the light source to the solid state component. Further, a surface roughness of the solid state component is adjusted so as to adjust an excitation distribution in a section of the solid state component. The solid state component further includes moving means for moving a reflection mirror and a condensing lens in a direction of an optical axis of the laser resonator, and a housing accommodating an image transferring optical system. A laser beam is generated from the laser resonator, and is externally derived and used to perform the laser machining.

摘要: A semiconductor-laser-pumped, solid-state laser includes a semiconductor pumping laser emitting pumping light, a solid-state laser medium arranged to be excited by the pumping light, and a laser resonator structure for emitting laser light from the solid-state laser medium. The solid-state laser medium is plate shaped having a thickness less than the broadening width of he pumping light in the solid-state laser medium. The semiconductor laser is arranged close to the face of the solid-state laser medium, and the laser resonator structure has an optical axis thereof coinciding with that of the pumping light.

摘要: An infrared fiber cable having a protective tube isolating the light for collimation which is a visible light. An infrared fiber is accommodated in the protective tube and adapted to conduct and emit an invisible light. Light emitting means is disposed around the infrared fiber and adapted to emit the light for collimation. The infrared fiber cable further includes a member adapted to allow the invisible light to pass therethrough but reflect the light for collimation. Also, an apparatus for preventing erroneous emission for a laser scalpel to be attached to such an optical fiber is provided. The apparatus operates to control emission of the laser beam for surgical operation in response to the position of the emission end of the optical fiber with respect to the object to be surgically operated.

摘要: A plurality of light detector pairs are spaced around the emitter end of a surgical laser handpiece with different, converging directivities to sense pilot beam reflections from a target. Their differentially compared outputs are applied to a distance determining unit having an adjustable threshold or majority decision level to detect when the end of the handpiece is at a desired distance from the target, whereupon the main laser beam is activated. Such a majority distance determination reduces activation errors due to the reflective characteristics and contours of the target surface and the angle of the handpiece.
