    摘要: A clutch mechanism connecting and disconnecting an output shaft of an internal combustion engine and an input shaft of a transmission unit includes a first clutch assembly coupled to the input shaft of the transmission unit and a second clutch assembly coupled to an output shaft of the engine. A torque conduction member is provided between the first and second clutch assemblies for rotation relative to the two clutch assemblies. The torque conduction member has a first connecting surface for engaging the first clutch assembly and a second connecting surface for engaging the second clutch assembly. The contacting force at the first connecting surface is stronger than that at the second connecting surface, when a predetermined load is applied to the two connecting surfaces in succession.

    摘要: A vehicular navigation apparatus, which is equipped with a help function, for outputting guidance information for travel to a desired destination includes an input unit having desired destination input means, present position input means and help function input means, a memory unit for storing desired destination information, and a display unit for outputting the guidance information in response to input information from the input unit, wherein the memory unit is provided with a non-volatile RAM, with necessary information being saved in an area of the non-volatile RAM when a help function is called by the help function input means. Help function items are provided for the following occasions: when the driver wishes to input or change a departure point and then depart from that point; when the driver wishes to change a desired destination while en route to a formerly set destination; when the driver strays off course while en route to a desired destination and cannot determine his present position without returning to the point at which the vehicle went off course; when a course cannot be travelled because of road construction or the like; when traffic becomes heavy and the driver wishes to change from one route to another to avoid congestion, and when the driver wishes to temporarily leave the course and then return to the course at the same point.

    摘要: A navigation apparatus having road system data 6 which represents information of connections and coordinates of intersections and roads between intersections, a travel distance sensor 2, steering angle sensor 3, a present position calculating module 4 for calculating the present position with a unit distance between an intersection and the terminal intersection of a going-out road selected at the former intersection. The apparatus is further provided with a module 15 for generating data on the direction of traveling to a destination point at respective intersections, and a guidance outputting module 5. Traveling direction data is made in response to inputting of the destination point, the present position is determined by selecting a going-out road with the present position calculating module with respect to each intersection, and guidance data on the traveling direction at the terminal intersection of the present road is thereafter output. When a present position is input, the present position is calculated from data on the corresponding road, the travel distance, and the steering angle. Similarly, at the terminal intersection of this road, another road extending in the traveling direction is selected from the road system data. The present position is also calculated with respect to this road.

    摘要: A position input system for a vehicular navigation apparatus includes an input unit for inputting a desired destination and a present position, a memory unit for storing desired destination information and map information, and a display unit for outputting the desired destination information and map information in response to input information from the input unit. The map information is indicative of intersections and a geographical point located between intersections and possessing useful guidance information. A desired destination and present position are capable of being inputted by setting the useful guidance information between a road leading to and a road leading from the geographical point. This makes it possible to enter position simply and accurately. Positions are precise since they are selected from pre-stored information relating to geographical locations. Vehicle direction can also be inputted in accurate fashion where parking lot exits and intersections are concerned.

Accordingly, control for changeover between two- and four-wheel drive or for locking a center differential mechanism can be made to conform to the road surface conditions immediately and in an appropriate manner to prevent skidding or lock-up of the tires and, hence, assure a safe and stable traveling state.

    摘要: In an automatic transmission, friction elements are engaged and disengaged by a hydraulic servo connected alternately to a pressure source or to a drain through a selector valve, and an accumulator is connected to the line between the selector valve and the servo. The resistance against the oil discharged from the accumulator, the resistance against the oil discharged from the servo, and the return biasing forces in the accumulator and servo are adjusted so that the hydraulic pressure at the servo is lower than the hydraulic pressure of the accumulator for a predetermined time when the selector valve connects the servo with the drain. In one embodiment, a relief valve responsive to a vehicle running condition, controls the discharge rate of working oil through the drain. In another embodiment, a pressure regulator varies the level of the pressure of the working oil discharged from the accumulator in response to variations in a vehicle running condition.

    摘要: A navigation apparatus has an input unit (1), a CPU (2), a display unit (3) and a memory unit (4), the memory unit (4) being a memory such as a CD-ROM in which network data of geographical points, namely destinations and present locations, and information are stored in advance. Also stored are map data (10), an intersection list (11), a destination list (12), road data (13) and a region name list (14), etc. When a destination is designated by an input from the input means (1), the CPU (2) performs an exchange with a program, stored in a ROM (9a), in order to set information for travel to the destination by course exploration in accordance with each geographical point stored in the memory unit (4). This information is stored in a memory such as a RAM (9b). In an embodiment, the RAM (9b) is provided with a non-volatile area for storing departure-point data (east longitude, north latitude, etc.). When an input is made by a reset switch in entering a departure point, the data in this non-volatile area can be rewritten. Data written in are preserved until the reset switch is pressed again and a geographical point is entered. Data will not be erased even if an ignition switch is turned off.
