    摘要： An image forming apparatus includes a plurality of image formation units which print an image of different color on a paper and also form positional deviation detection marks and image density regulation marks, on a conveyer belt or on at least one of a recording medium and an intermediate transfer body that conveys the paper, when such a request is received. When requests for formation of the positional deviation detection marks and the request for the formation of the image density regulation marks is received at the same time or at substantially the same time, the main CPU orchestrates the conveyer belt and the image forming units to form the positional deviation detection marks and the image density regulation marks in continuation.

    摘要： An image processing apparatus eliminates a detection error in a color offset detecting operation due to a periodic fluctuation in a speed of a conveying belt which conveys a transfer sheet on which color component images are transferred and superimpose to form a multi-color image. A plurality of image forming units are arranged along the conveying belt, each of the image forming units transferring a color component image on the transfer sheet and also transferring a register mark on the conveying belt. A register mark detecting sensor located along the conveying belt detects the register mark on the conveying belt. A distance between the register mark detecting sensor and one of the plurality of image forming units adjacent to the register mark detecting sensor is a multiple of an integer of a circumference of the drive roller. A distance between adjacent ones of the plurality of image forming units is a multiple of an integer of the circumference of the drive roller.

    摘要： An image forming apparatus includes an image carrier, a toner-image forming unit, a transfer unit, a cleaner, a plurality of cylindrical transport path forming members, a falling transport path forming member, and a discharge port. The falling transport path forming member has through holes in a side wall thereof. A second end of each of the transport path forming members is inserted into a corresponding one of the through holes. The falling transport path forming member forms a falling transport path that causes toner ejected from an ejection port disposed in the second end to fall. The discharge port is disposed in a lower part of the falling transport path forming member to discharge the toner to a discharge destination. The second ends of the transport path forming members are disposed offset from each other in a horizontal direction on the side wall of the falling transport path forming member.

    摘要： A cleaning device, which is included in a process cartridge or an image forming apparatus, includes a cleaning member including a brush rotary body that is disposed in contact with an image carrier provided in an image forming apparatus and that removes toner on the image carrier and holds the toner thereon, a toner conveying rotary body to collect and convey the toner removed by the cleaning member, a flicker contacting the cleaning member to flick off the toner held on the cleaning member, and an agitator that has a free end contacting the toner conveying rotary body and vibrating due to rotation of the toner conveying rotary body. The agitator further has a trajectory being formed between the opening and the toner conveying rotary body by movement of the free end. Alternatively, the free end of the agitator is disposed facing the flicker.

This makes it possible to feed only the uppermost sheet downstream without an opening edge formed in the uppermost sheet from interfering with an opening edge of a lower sheet.
