Abstract:
The first of a pair scissor like rocker arms is pivotally mounted at one end either by way of an adjust screw or a hydraulic lash adjuster and arangement to engage the top of a valve stem at the other. A cam follower which is located between the first and second ends engages a lift cam. The second of the rocker arms is pivotally mounted on the first one and has a closure cam follower at one end and engages the lower face of a retainer which secured to the top of the valve stem by way of a ring type collet. The shaft on which the second rocker arm is pivotally mounted can be provided with eccentric portions which enable the second rocker arm valve clearances to be adjusted separately from the adjustment of the first rocker arm clearance. The arrangement can be adapted to lift and close two valves.
Abstract:
An ignition system for a multi-cylinder internal combustion engine eliminates high-voltage cables and a mechanical distributor in order to reduce electrical power losses due to joule effect caused mainly by the high voltage circuit, comprises a plurality of ignition coils and plugs, one provided for each cylinder, a distribution unit for distributing advance-angle control signals into the respective cylinders, and a booster for boosting the supply voltage in order to reduce the size of the ignition coil, in addition to the conventional ignition system. Furthermore, the ignition coil can be built integrally with the ignition plug for eliminating high-voltage cables connected between coil and plug.
Abstract:
A fuel injection apparatus for an internal combustion engine has at least one fuel injection valve. An annular or ring-shaped electrode is mounted near the fuel injection valve to encircle the injected fuel. A high voltage generator produces an electric field between the electrode and the fuel injection valve as well as a surrounding wall which are both connected to the ground. Electrified fuel particles are finely atomized and prevented from attaching onto the surrounding wall to improve the operation, starting characteristic, and transient response of the engine.
Abstract:
A spark ignition fuel injection reciprocatory internal combustion engine with dual induction system is provided which has within a cylinder head a primary intake port passage to direct air charge into a cylinder to swirl therein and a secondary intake port passage to direct air charge into the cylinder in such a direction as to impede and reduce the swirling motion of the air charge issuing from the primary intake port passage. An intake valve, including a valve stem and a valve head, is reciprocably mounted within the cylinder head, and an annular wall or tube is fixedly positioned in a bore in the cylinder head. The primary intake port passage communicates with the exterior of this tube and the secondary intake port passage communicates with the interior of the tube. This tube extends to a position closely adjacent to, or in engagement with, the valve head of the intake valve when the valve is in the closed position. A fuel injector, mounted to the cylinder head, discharges fuel into the secondary intake port passage toward the central portion of the head and synchronization with the opening of the intake valve so that the fuel issuing from the fuel injector will impinge upon the valve head and then disperse radially outwardly toward the periphery of the valve head. An air flow sensor is provided upstream of primary and secondary throttle valves to detect the total of flow of induction air fed to the engine so that fuel is discharged at a rate proportional to the total induction air flow.

Abstract:
A plastic molded product of olefin (co)polymer composition comprises 0.01-5.0 weight parts high molecular weight polyethylene with an intrinsic viscosity &eegr;E in the range of 15-100 dl/g measured in 135° C. tetralin and preferably 100 weight parts polypropylene. The high molecular weight polyethylene has an average particle size in the range of 1-5000 nm and is finely dispersed as fine granules in the polypropylene, so that high melt strength and high crystallization temperature are attained, enabling various molding methods to be performed with high speed productivity. Using the polymer composition, plastics such as a resin foam, a film, a sheet, a layered plastic article with a coated substrate surface, a hollow plastic article, an injection molded plastic article, a fiber, a nonwoven web or a continuous tube-shaped plastic are provided. The olefin (co)polymer composition is obtained by preparing high molecular weight polyethylene granules using e.g. a titanium transition metal compound catalyst, and adding these, e.g. as a polymerization catalyst of propylene, singly or together with a polyolefin preparing catalyst.
Abstract:
A ladder-type electric filter circuit apparatus having a plurality of thinner electric filter units wherein each electric filter unit includes a casing of metal into which piezoelectric resonator elements and terminal plates are inserted, and the metal casing is securely mounted on a printed circuit board by soldering. The piezoelectric resonator elements and terminal plates are insulated from the metal casing by an insulating plate and an elastic insulatiang plate which is also served as a vibration or shock absorber for protecting the contained filter from any external vibration or shock propagated through the printed circuit board.
