Abstract: The present invention provides a catalyst module for removing harmful gas, wherein an oxidation reaction or reduction reaction of harmful gas is carried out in a self-heating heating carrier. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the catalyst module for removing harmful gas comprises: a heating carrier composed of an electrically heatable heating body, including one or more flow channels inside, and having a porous structure with pores; and a catalyst region formed on at least a portion of the surface of the heating carrier including the flow channels and containing a catalyst material for promoting a decomposition reaction of harmful gas passing through the flow channels, wherein the catalyst region comprises: a first catalyst layer having a first catalyst material loading amount in the pores of the heating carrier; and a second catalyst layer applied on the inner surface of the heating carrier.

Abstract: A catalyst support for induction heating includes: a honeycomb structure including a pillar shaped honeycomb structure portion having: an outer peripheral wall; and a partition wall disposed on an inner side of the outer peripheral wall, the partition wall defining a plurality of cells, each of the cells extending from an end face on an inlet side to an end face on an outlet side in a gas flow direction to form a flow path; a catalyst supported onto an interior of the partition wall; and at least one magnetic body provided within the honeycomb structure, wherein the catalyst support has a region A where the catalyst is not supported, at least on the end face side of the catalyst support on the inlet side in the gas flow direction, and wherein the magnetic body is arranged at least in the region A in the gas flow direction.

Titanium precursors are hydrolyzed into crystalline TiO2 polymorphs at low temperatures, allowing the delicate morphology of the nanostars to be preserved while maintaining their desirable photocatalytic properties.

Abstract: A hierarchical catalyst composition comprising a continuous or particulate macroporous scaffold in which is incorporated mesoporous aggregates of magnetic nanoparticles, wherein an enzyme is embedded in mesopores of the mesoporous aggregates of magnetic nanoparticles. Methods for synthesizing the hierarchical catalyst composition are also described. Also described are processes that use the recoverable hierarchical catalyst composition for depolymerizing lignin, remediation of water contaminated with aromatic substances, polymerizing monomers by a free-radical mechanism, epoxidation of alkenes, halogenation of phenols, inhibiting growth and function of microorganisms in a solution, and carbon dioxide conversion to methanol. Further described are methods for increasing the space time yield and/or total turnover number of a liquid-phase chemical reaction that includes magnetic particles to facilitate the chemical reaction, the method comprising subjecting the chemical reaction to a plurality of magnetic fields of selected magnetic strength, relative position in the chemical reaction, and relative motion.

Abstract: A composite is synthesized by pyrolysis of a mixture of tannin and melamine. The synthesis process comprises dissolving the tannin and the melamine in water to form a homogeneous solution; evaporating the solution to yield a dry solid; and subjecting powders of the dry solid to a heat treatment at a temperature for a duration of time effective to produce the composite.
