Abstract:
A corrugated plastic box and a method for manufacturing a corrugated plastic box from a blank are provided. The method includes the steps of forming rounded edge seals on the perimeter edges of the blank, pre-sealing portions of the blank to form a plurality of areas in which major and minor flap slots and a glue tab are desired, ultrasonically scoring the blank to form a plurality of flap score lines, and cutting the blank through the plurality of pre-sealed flap slots and glue tab, leaving a sealed edge.
Abstract:
A luggage case includes a case woven by thermoplastic composite material, the case includes four integrally connected lateral walls, a bottom connected to the lateral walls, and four arc-shaped corners at cross points of the lateral walls, between each of the arc-shaped corners and the bottom is defined a closed hole. Any two of the lateral walls which are neighboring to each other are provided with a first overlapping portion and a second overlapping portion, respectively, and the first and second overlapping portions are integrally connected to each other without a notch formed therebetween, each of the corners of the case is folded to make the first and second overlapping portions overlapped with each other, so as to form a thickened pieces on an inner surface of each of the lateral walls.
Abstract:
A corner bead for wallboard applications comprising a polymeric core having a bonding surface for bonding to wallboard wherein the bonding surface has applied thereto a water activated adhesive which is bonded to the polymeric core by a curable adhesive having embedded therein fibers which are also embedded in the water activated adhesive.
Abstract:
A product (10) made from an extruded sheet or web of material (42) having a non-linear cross-section, and the process of making the product (10) is provided. The extruded web or extrudate (42) is plastically deformed in selected areas and then folded. When folded into the appropriate shape, the extrudate (42) is formed into a product (10) having a plurality of cells (14). The cells (14a) may have one or more openings (34a), allowing access to an interior of the cell (14a) and reducing the weight of the product (10a).
Abstract:
A composite panel with a bend therein is formed by first and second adjacent panel sections having a common facesheet forming an outer radius of the bend, and a substantially void-free joint between the adjacent panel sections.
Abstract:
A slat or vane for use in a covering for an architectural opening is suitable for use in either a horizontal or vertical orientation and in a horizontal orientation will not sag or droop, and in a vertical orientation will rotate uniformly along its length when rotated from end thereof. The slat is formed in a tubular configuration and has a base material of glass fibers bonded together in a thermoformable resin so as to maintain the arcuate curvature desired for the tubular slat or vane. The slat can be repeatedly deformed and will always return to its original configuration.

Abstract:
A V-grooved composite insulation is provided with an adhesive coating and a protective jacketing material bonded to the adhesive. The protective jacketing material extends beyond the perimeter of the grooved insulation board and comprises at least one intact release layer at a location in which the protective jacketing is clear of contact with the bottom surface of the insulation member and a pressure sensitive adhesive between the portion of the protective jacketing material and the at least one release layer. The method also comprises preshaping the grooved insulation board around a pipe by bending the grooved insulation board, removing the release layer of the protective jacketing material, thereby exposing the pressure sensitive adhesive and securing the pressure sensitive adhesive to the protective jacketing to thereby surround the pipe in a vapor free manner. Grooved insulation boards with protective jacketing so constructed are also provided.
Abstract:
A method of continuously forming heated conduit includes performing a tape for winding onto a spiral pipeline former. At least one conductor is positioned adjacent to the centreline of and parallel with a thin polymer ribbon. The ribbon is folded in half to encapsulate the conductors. The folded ribbon is thermally welded to itself, The folded, welded, ribbon is passed through a creaser, which forms a crease midway across the folded ribbon. The creased pre-formed ribbon is formed into a conduit in a continuous process on a spiral pipeline former.
Abstract:
A trim panel includes a body portion and an extension (110). The extension is provided at a periphery of the body portion for securing the trim panel to the vehicle. The extension is formed of a cover stock (104) material and a substrate (102). The body portion and the extension (110) are formed during the same molding operation. According to one exemplary embodiment, the cover stock material (104) is positioned into a mold (200), the mold (200) is reconfigured to bend an edge of the cover stock material (104) inward, and a resin is injected into the mold (200) to form the substrate.
