Abstract:
A sprinkler assembly includes a sprinkler body and a tubular connection fitting. The tubular connection fitting includes a first end for connection to a fluid supply pipe and a second end with the sprinkler body inserted therein, the tubular member including an outer surface and an inner surface defining an internal conduit extending along a longitudinal axis, the inner surface of the tubular member includes a first stop surface spaced from the first end to define an insertion depth for the fluid supply pipe and a second stop surface to limit insertion of the sprinkler body into the second end. The first stop surface defines an annular channel for housing an end of the fluid supply pipe.
Abstract:
A system and method for welding edge seams at the edges of fabric is presented. A method begins by lowering a fabric pre-fold bar onto a piece of fabric. A pre-aligned portion of the fabric is pushed on top of the pre-fold bar so that the pre-fold bar is between the portion of fabric on top of the fabric pre-fold bar and other fabric below the pre-fold bar. The fabric on top of the fabric pre-fold bar is folded edge fabric and fabric not on top of the fabric pre-fold bar is not folded edge fabric. A folded edge is formed between these two sections of fabric. The method pinches some of the fabric at the folded end and then pulls the folded edge fabric off of the fabric pre-fold bar. After that, the method welds at least some of the folded edge fabric to the not folded edge fabric.
Abstract:
An apparatus for welding a tubular lining of a wastewater pipe includes a retainer for the butt-jointed longitudinal edges, which are to be welded, of a plastic panel bent to form a pipe, and a welding apparatus. The retainer includes one respective clamping device for each edge formed by a stationary clamping bar on the outside of the pipe and a movable clamping bar on the inside of the pipe which is connected to an actuating drive. The stationary clamping bars are located opposite of one another with respect to the butt joint between the two longitudinal edges while leaving a gap open. At least one of the two movable clamping bars forms a stop for one longitudinal edge of the plastic panel in a position placed against the associated stationary clamping bar. A guide is provided along the gap between the stationary clamping bars for the welding device.
Abstract:
A container comprises a plastic blister or cover component with a first peripheral edge and a formed, first open-sided volume extending from the peripheral edge joined with a paperboard tray or tray component with a second peripheral edge, the paperboard tray or tray component having a plurality of panels forming a second open-sided volume. The container has means for joining the first peripheral edge of the plastic blister or cover component and the second peripheral edge of the paperboard tray or tray component so that the first and second volumes form a combined container volume.
Abstract:
A method of fixing a functional component (2) in a housing (4). During a first step, a first housing portion (1) is prepared in which a functional component (2), to be fixed, is arranged in a provisional fixing position. During a second step, a second housing portion (3) is brought into contact with the first housing portion (1) so that the functional component (2) is arranged in a joining direction (X) between the housing portions (1, 3). During a third step, material from at least one of the housing portions (1, 3) is melted in such manner that the functional component (2), located between the housing portions (1, 3), is gripped in position when a material-integral bond is formed between the housing portions (1, 3).
Abstract:
The invention describes an apparatus for welding a tubular lining of a wastewater pipe, comprising a retainer for the butt-jointed longitudinal edges (8, 9), which are intended to be welded, of a plastic panel (5) bent to form a pipe, and comprising a welding apparatus (25). In order to provide advantageous welding conditions it is proposed that the retainer for the two butt-jointed longitudinal edges (8, 9) of the plastic panel (5) comprises one respective clamping device (6, 7) consisting of a stationary clamping bar (10) on the outside of the pipe and a movable clamping bar (11) on the inside of the pipe which is connected to an actuating drive (12), that the stationary clamping bars (10) are located opposite of one another with respect to the butt joint between the two longitudinal edges (8, 9) while leaving a gap (21) open, that at least one of the two movable clamping bars (11) forms a stop (36) for one longitudinal edge (8) of the plastic panel (5) in a position placed against the associated stationary clamping bar (10), and that a guide (22) is provided along the gap (21) between the stationary clamping bars (10) for the welding device (25).
Abstract:
The invention is a pipe joint for joining pipes composed of materials that are difficult to adhere. The major elements are an extrudable adhesive; a first pipe having a socket with an inside diameter, where said socket has a mouth, a self-centering bottom with a gasket, a cylindrical wall with a plurality of ports, and an inner annular channel. A second pipe has an insertion section with an squared-off end and a rolled groove. The second pipe having an outside diameter that is less than the inside diameter of the socket, where the difference defines a coaxial cavity with a width. The rolled groove serves as a distribution channel while the adhesive is a liquid, and upon curing the solid adhesive functions as a retaining ring. A flanged annular ring, potentially aided by a compression apparatus, caps the cavity, centers the insertion section, and maintains compression. The adhesive includes alkyl-borane-adhesives.
Abstract:
A container comprises a plastic blister with a first planar peripheral edge and a formed, first open-sided volume extending from the plane of the peripheral edge joined with a paperboard tray with a second planar peripheral edge, the paperboard tray having a plurality of panels connected at fold lines and forming a second open-sided volume. The container has means for joining the first planar peripheral edge of the plastic blister and the second planar peripheral edge of the paperboard tray so that the first and second volumes form a combined container volume. The paperboard tray may be a wedge-shaped tray, with greater depth at one end than at the other end. The container may be filled and sealed on conventional equipment used for blister packages with minor changes in tooling
Abstract:
The present invention provides a hot air welding apparatus that provides accurate and repeatable control of the drive wheel speed. To afford very precise control of the speed and relative rotation of the drive wheels at all times during the welding process, the present invention is provided with a computer control system and two high torque stepper motors, one for each drive wheel. The computer control system allows the speed and position of the drive wheels to be regulated with a very high accuracy. The computer control system allows the drive wheel settings to be adjusted while the seam is being welded and further includes an automatic ramp capability, a repeat mode, and a test strip mode. Further, the computer control system is capable of controlling the temperature of the air used in the welding process.
