Disclosed are a ferrite catalyst, its preparation method and use. The catalyst has a formula of FeAaDbOc, wherein A is Mg atom, Zn atom or a mixture of these two atoms in any ratio; D is one or more atoms elected from the group consisting of Ni, Co, Mn, Ca, Mo or V; a=0.01˜0.6; b=0˜0.30; c is a number satisfying the valence. The catalyst is prepared by a method comprising mixing the metal oxide precursors according to the chemical ratios and grinding by ball milling to obtain the ferrite catalyst. The catalyst exhibits excellent activity and selectivity when used in a reaction for preparing butadiene by oxidative dehydrogenation of butene. The preparation of the catalyst is simple, controllable and well repeatable, with reduced waste water and waste gas during preparation.

This invention covers a process for converting a feed comprising at least one lower aliphatic alcohol having from 1 to 3 carbon atoms or a corresponding ether of such an alcohol to hydrocarbon products comprising linear olefins. The process comprises contacting the feed in a reaction zone with a catalyst comprising material having a large crystal ferrierite aluminosilicate structure. An effluent is withdrawn from the reaction zone, which comprises linear olefins. Linear olefins may then be separated from the effluent. The aliphatic alcohol having from 1 to 3 carbons is generally methanol and the preferred ether is dimethyl ether. ZSM-35 is the preferred large crystal ferrierite structure of this invention.

In the integrated process, the gaseous hydrocarbon feed is supplied to a conversion zone comprising at least one dehydroaromatization catalyst and is contacted with the catalyst under conversion conditions to produce a gaseous effluent stream comprising at least one aromatic compound, unreacted methane and H2. The gaseous effluent stream is then separated into a first product stream comprising said at least one aromatic compound and a second product stream comprising unreacted methane and H2. The second product stream is further separated into a methane-rich stream and a hydrogen-rich stream and at least part of the methane-rich stream is passed to LNG and/or pipeline gas production. The gaseous hydrocarbon feed supplied to the conversion zone has at least one of the following properties: (i) a sulfur level of at least 25 ppm by volume; (ii) a CO2 level of at least 50 ppm by volume; and (iii) a dew point of at least 203° K.
