A fluid activatable adhesive for a liner-free label and methods of using are described. Preferably, the adhesive composition includes a polymer, such as an emulsion polymer formed from monomers selected from the group consisting of butyl acrylate, 2-ethylhexyl acrylate, methyl acrylate, 2-acrylamido-2-methylpropane sulfonic acid (AMPS), a salt of AMPS, such as its sodium salt, styrene, and combinations thereof. The adhesive composition adheres to the liner-free label to the surface of a substrate that is at room temperature, at room temperature and wet, cold, or cold and wet. In preferred embodiments, the substrate is glass or plastic, such as polyethylene terephthalate.

Described are pressure-sensitive adhesive polymers (PSAs) useful, for example, for application to the skin, such as in the field of transdermal drug delivery. The PSAs include polar groups modeled on one or more polar portions of skin lipids, which contribute to good skin adhesion properties. Embodiments of the invention provide a resin composition for optical articles, which has a blue light-blocking function, is white and transparent, and does not look yellow; and a laminate. According to at least one embodiment, the resin composition includes (A) 1 to 5 parts by mass of white inorganic microparticles and (B) 100 parts by mass of a transparent base resin. The resin composition is characterized in that (i) the white inorganic microparticles have an average particle diameter of 10 to 80 nm and (ii) the difference between the refractive index of the white inorganic microparticles and the refractive index of the base resin is 0.1 or more. According to at least one embodiment, there is provided a laminate which includes a hard coat layer or a cohesive/adhesive agent layer each made from the resin composition and a poly(meth)acrylic imide resin film layer.
