摘要： A lubricating oil soluble compound suitable for use as a dispersant additive is obtainable by reacting at elevated temperature a polyacrylate with a dispersant having at least one reactive nitrogen--containing moiety.Intermediatese of the general formula IV ##STR1## where Y.sup.1 is a group derived from the reaction of the polyacrylate with the reactive nitrogen-containing moieties (i.e. primary or secondary amine) are novel.The process for preparing the lubricating oil soluble compounds can be a one step or multistep process.Lubricating oil compositions comprise a major proportion of lubricating oil and a minor proportion of the lubricating oil soluble compounds.

摘要： Condensation products made by reacting an .alpha.-hydroxyalkyl hydroxy-aromatic compound also having at least one non-fused hydrocarbyl substituent with at least one olefinic nitrile, carboxylic acid or carboxylic acid derivative are useful as additives for fuels and lubricants. The total number of carbon atoms in the non-fused hydrocarbyl substituents is at least about 7 while the .alpha.hydroxyalkyl group contains from 1 to about 36 carbons and the olefinic acid or nitrile reactant usually contains 2 to about 40 carbon atoms. Products made from hydroxymethyl alkyl-substituted phenols and .alpha.,.beta.-olefinic acid derivatives such as maleic anhydride and particularly useful. Similarly useful post-treated products can be made from these condensation products by further reaction with alcohols, amines, metal salts or metals.

摘要： Organic compositions made by reacting an amino compound, carbon disulfide, and a halogenated substantially aliphatic hydrocarbon having at least 25 carbon atoms are useful as additives for lubricants and liquid fuels. Particularly useful are compositions wherein the amino compound is alkylene polyamine and the hydrocarbon is a halogenated polymer or interpolymer of a C.sub.2 to C.sub.6 l-olefin.

摘要： A surface treatment composition for metal working comprising 10 to 50 parts by weight of a water-soluble thermoplastic synthetic resin having an average degree of polymerization of 300 to 1,700, 40 to 180 parts by weight of an aqueous dispersion of an alkaline earth metal soap and 0.5 to 12 parts by weight of at least one volatile corrosion inhibitor, which can give to a metal panel excellent deep drawing processability, chemical treatment property, rust corrosion resistance or the like.
