摘要: Exemplary embodiments are directed to devices for separating a sample by chromatography, components of the devices, and methods for using the devices, and directed to devices and components for use with immobilized enzymatic reactors. A device includes a wall having a wetted surface exposed to a mobile phase including the sample during chromatographic separation. The wetted surface of the wall includes an alloy material including the following constituents: nickel, and cobalt and/or chromium where the alloy is limited in an amount of titanium to 1 wt %. A component includes a body having a wetted surface exposed to a mobile phase including the sample during chromatographic separation. The wetted surface of the body includes an alloy material including the following constituents: nickel, and cobalt and/or chromium where the alloy is limited in an amount of titanium to 1 wt %.

摘要: An immobilized enzymatic reactor can include a wall defining a chamber having an inlet and an outlet; a solid stationary phase covalently linked to an enzyme and disposed within the chamber; and a pressure modulator in fluid communication with the chamber and adapted to support continuous flow of a liquid sample comprising a polymer analyte through the inlet, over the solid stationary phase, and out of the outlet under a pressure between about 2,500 and 35,000 psi. In one example, the solid stationary phase includes inorganic/organic hybrid particles in an ultra performance liquid chromatography system, the enzyme is a protease, and the polymer analyte is a polypeptide. The immobilized enzymatic reactor can prepare an analyte for applications such as for hydrogen deuterium exchange mass spectrometry.

摘要: Disclosed are an enzymatic batchwise or continuous process for the production of fatty acid alkyl esters for use in the biofuels, food and detergent industries and a system therefor. The process utilizes enzymes immobilized on a hydrophobic resin mixed with a fatty acid source and an alcohol or alcohol donor in the presence of an alkaline or mild alkaline aqueous buffer, or in the presence of water or aqueous solution. The production process for fatty acid alkyl esters is carried out by transesterification or esterification simultaneously or sequentially. The biocatalyst activity is maintained with no significant activity losses in multiple uses and also avoids the accumulation of glycerol and water by-products or other hydrophilic compounds on the biocatalyst.

摘要: A nano-bioreactor, and an enzymatic nano-bioreactor apparatus are disclosed. The enzymatic nano-bioreactor, comprises at least one enzyme, and a cellulose nano-fiber. The enzyme is any one of a urease, a glutamate dehydrogenase, and a glutamine synthetase configured to immobilize on the cellulose nano-fiber. The enzymatic nano-bioreactor apparatus comprises a plurality of input pumps, which is configured to introduce at least one input to a plurality of micro-bioreactors, where connected each other by a connector. The apparatus further comprises, at least one nano-bioreactor placed inside the micro-bioreactor, configured to receive the input, and an outlet configured to extrude a resultant output from the nano-bioreactor to a collector unit. The present also discloses a method for manipulating extracellular metabolic system using the said enzymatic nano-bioreactor apparatus.

摘要: The invention provides a method and system for controlling the conversion of crystalline insoluble cellulose to an organic product in a bioreactor containing crystalline insoluble cellulose and a culture medium. A processor of a computing device receives an input from a sensor in the bioreactor. The input may be a measurement of one or more of concentration, temperature, pH and pressure. The processor calculates conversion of cellulose using the input to provide a total calculated organic product in the bioreactor. The processor receives a further input from a sensor in the bioreactor of the total actual organic product and compares the total calculated organic product and the total actual organic product. The processor then transmits an instruction to an agitator associated with the bioreactor to control agitation of the content of the bioreactor if the total actual organic product is outside a predetermined range of the total calculated organic product.
