    摘要: A rotary combustor has a wall formed from water cooled pipes that are secured together by welded perforated strips. The strips comprise cylindrical shaped metallic rods and the perforations are provided either by forming apertures through the cylindrical shaped metallic rods, or by slots formed between segments by spacing segments of cylindrical shaped rods along the pipes, or by gaps formed between welds that are provided at spaced intervals along the pipes and rods. A method of fabricating a rotary combustor wall is also provided.

    摘要: A method of making a control assembly intended for use in manually regulating the operating speed of power equipment in which fine adjustments may be obtained by rotating the control knob and rapid changes in speed may be achieved by shifting the knob axially. The assembly includes an outer one-piece sleeve adapted to be mounted upon an instrument panel or engine housing and permanently joined to a flexible casing containing the operating wire or cable. A plunger assembly is rotatably and slidably received within the sleeve, the plunger assembly including a thin-walled plunger tube of flexible material having a control knob ultrasonically welded to one end of the plunger. The side wall of the plunger tube has a non-circular (preferably oval-shaped) opening through which a retractable follower (ball) protrudes for engaging the internal threads of the sleeve when vernier adjustment is desired. The width of the opening in one direction is slightly less than the diameter of the ball and, during assembly, the edges of the opening defining the reduced width flex inwardly as the ball is forceably inserted into the tube during assembly. Thereafter, the opening returns to its original shape and size to retain the ball within the tube.

    摘要: The process comprises creating two conductor strips provided with end pieces whose external parts are bent on one and the same side, welding the electric-electronic components to the bent parts of corresponding end pieces, making a mold, inserting into the mold the unit constituted by the strips and the components, pouring liquid sealant into the mold in such a way as to cover the components but not the strips, with this condition being maintained until the sealant has set, separating the mold from the one piece block of sealant in which the components are dipped and from which project, at least partially, end pieces, removing the strips from the corresponding end pieces in order to define with these, the electrical terminations of the components, bending the terminations against the longitudinal sides of the one piece block and cutting the block along crosswise planes that do not effect the components.
