    摘要: A gear arrangement is provided with a built-up for a shaft or pinion to rotate in unison therewith. The gear includes a gear rim and two flanges arranged axially on both sides and fixed them against the gear rim in a positive-locking connection. A hub, over which the respective other parts of the gear are pushed, is formed on at least one of the parts of the gear. The parts of the gear are held together without the use of rivets or screws by a clamped connection including a clamping ring, which is caused to mesh with a groove extending circumferentially on the circumference of the hub or shaft. The clamped connection presses the respective flange outer surface in a spring-mounted manner. Mutually corresponding elevations and depressions on the axial outer surfaces of the gear rim as well as on the axially inner surfaces of the flanges mesh with one another.

    摘要: An elastomeric torsional isolator comprises one or more elastomer layers disposed between a spur gear, having a pair of sloped surfaces, and a pair of rims having corresponding surfaces. The rims are attached to a flange extending from a shaft which has pinions for engaging a driven gear. By preloading the elastomer layers, the spur gear is frictionally connected to the flange and shaft, rather than mechanically engaged. The preloaded elastomer layers act as an elastomeric torsional isolator which accommodates variations in mechanical tolerances to balance the torque loading in a split torque drive system. Using elastomer layers for balancing the torque loading between a pair of torque splitting gear assemblies reduces the number of bearings required, increasing reliability and reducing part complexity.

    摘要: Apparatus for mounting a rotatable component on a rotating shaft using a non-machined torque transmitting intermediate hub member is disclosed. The hub member makes torque transmitting contact with the drive shaft and transmits that torque to the rotatable component through frictional contact at a taper on the drive shaft and at a recessed shoulder of the hub as well as by an external key on the hub periphery and a matching cut-out formed in the rotatable member. There is also a keyway and key between the drive shaft and hub for accurate alignment in assembly and disassembly. A plurality of narrow longitudinally extending rib members are integral with and are supported on the other peripheral surface of the hub member whereby the rotatable member when it is seated against the shoulder on the hub member for the first time mechanically distorts the rib members from their original shape to provide a secure but releasable fit between the hub member and the rotatable component. A nut and washer assembly secure the rotatable component and hub member to the drive shaft.

    摘要: The gearbox has synchronizers and at least one speed ratio set of gears which is non-synchronized. The synchronized set of gears are actuated by parallel longitudinally movable rods. A first rod which moves the movable means is connected to a second rod which relates to one of the synchronizers by automatically withdrawable connecting means so that the beginning of the displacement from its position of rest of the first rod causes a displacement of the second rod, said displacement, which precedes the engagement of the non-synchronized set of gears, being of such extent that it just puts the synchronizers into action without engaging the corresponding speed ratio. The second rod carries a slidable sleeve having withdrawable means for connection to the second rod and means for positively driving the second rod at the same time as the first rod.

    摘要: The invention is an improved clutching means for tapping attachments and particularly adaptable in attachments having free axial float. Direct and reverse drive is provided for by way of planetary gears for driving in direct and reverse drive in the exemplary attachment in which the clutching means is embodied. An adjustment is provided for depth. Spring biased clutch drive members are provided for both the direct and reverse drive providing a narrow, neutral position. Each clutch driver member is in the form of a sleeve having a ball race carrying driving balls interposed between axial splines on a driving part and on the driven spindle. The splines have arcuate side surfaces to confrom to the driving balls providing for substantially frictionless drive in both direct and reverse modes, the balls being free to roll. The splines are especially configurated to facilitate engagement of the balls with them. In one form the splines have slanted or inclined end surfaces to achieve this purpose and in a preferred form the splines have arcuate side and end surfaces forming a continuous oval shaped track.
