Abstract: An apparatus is provided. The apparatus includes a flexible backing, a flexible circuit, and a first sensor. The first sensor includes a first electrocardiographic electrode and a second electrocardiographic electrode, the first electrocardiographic electrode and the second electrocardiographic electrode are configured to sense electrocardiographic signals. The apparatus further includes a monitor recorder and a second sensor. The second sensor is configured to sense a physiological parameter different from the electrocardiographic signals.

Abstract: An apparatus is provided. A strip has first and second end sections, and a first surface and second surface. Two electrocardiographic electrodes are provided on the strip with one of the electrocardiographic electrodes provided on the first surface of the first end section of the strip and another of the electrocardiographic electrodes positioned on the first surface on the second end section of the strip. A flexible circuit is mounted to the second surface of the strip and includes a circuit trace electrically coupled to each of the electrocardiographic electrodes. A wireless transceiver is affixed on one of the first or second end sections, and a battery is positioned on one of the first or second end sections. A processor is positioned on one of the first or second end sections and is housed separate from the battery.

Abstract: This document discusses, among other things, systems and methods to determine an indication of contractility of a heart of a patient using received physiologic information, and to determine blood pressure information of the patient using the heart sound information and the determined indication of contractility of the heart. The system can include an assessment circuit configured to determine an indication of contractility of a heart of the patient using first heart sound (S1) information of the patient, and to determine blood pressure information of the patient using second heart sound (S2) information of the patient and the determined indication of contractility of the heart.

Abstract: In embodiments, a wearable medical system (“WMS”) implements a wearable cardioverter defibrillator (“WCD”) that senses and samples a patient's ECG signals. In a regular mode, the WMS produces a first set of ECG values, which can be the minimum needed for a WCD operation. In a second or rich mode of operation, the WMS produces a second set of ECG values, more numerous than the first set. The rich mode can be implemented by sampling the ECG signal faster, and/or not ignoring ECG signals in channels that are ignored in the regular mode, and/or by having more ECG sensing electrodes than the minimum needed for the WCD operation. The WMS stores the first set and the second set, and uses either one to determine whether defibrillation is needed. In addition, it communicates them to another device. In embodiments, support structures for a WMS have multiple ECG electrodes for just sensing.

Abstract: A noise-separating cardiac monitor is provided. An implantable housing includes an external surface. A wireless antenna is shaped to wrap around an interior periphery of the implantable housing. Electrodes are provided on a ventral surface of the implantable housing to capture P-wave signals and R-wave signals. Electronic circuitry is provided within the wearable housing and includes a low power microcontroller. A front end circuit includes a signal lead operable to sense cardiac electrical potentials through one of the electrodes, a reference lead operable to sense the cardiac electrical potentials through another electrode, and a reference generator configured to inject a driven reference to the reference lead. The signal lead includes a coupling capacitor and a protection resistor associated with thermal noise. The thermal noise is not contained in the driven reference and not introduced to the reference lead. A non-volatile memory is electrically interfaced with the microcontroller.

Abstract: Long-term electrocardiographic and physiological monitoring over a period lasting up to several years in duration can be provided through a continuously-recording insertable cardiac monitor. The sensing circuitry and the physical layout of the electrodes are specifically optimized to capture electrical signals from the propagation of low amplitude, relatively low frequency content cardiac action potentials, particularly the P-waves that are generated during atrial activation and storing samples of captured signals. In general, the ICM is intended to be implanted centrally and positioned axially and either over the sternum or slightly to either the left or right of the sternal midline in the parasternal region of the chest.

Abstract: A medical device is utilized to monitor physiological parameters of a patient and capture segments of the monitored physiological parameters. The medical device includes circuitry configured to monitor one or more physiological parameters associated with the patient and an analysis module that includes a buffer and a processor. The buffer stores monitored physiological parameters and the processor analyzes the monitored physiological parameters and triggers capture of segments from the buffer in response to a triggering criteria being satisfied. The analysis module selects a pre-trigger duration based at least in part on the triggering criteria.

Abstract: An improved wearable device for detecting progression of Cardiac Amyloidosis based on changes in relative values of characteristics of P-wave and R-wave is disclosed. In an embodiment of the invention, two electrodes the device are connected to user's skin surface to obtain traces of ECG signals. Thereafter, correction factors are determined for the obtained traces of ECG signals. A microprocessor included in the device applies correction factors on the traces of ECG signals to obtain characteristics of P-wave and R-wave. Finally, the microprocessor determines the ratio of the characteristics (such as amplitude) of the P-wave to the characteristics (such as amplitude) of the R-wave and records said ratio. Still further, the microprocessor compares all such recorded ratios or features, to determine and display if there is disease progression.
