    摘要: A method of controlling the tension of a strip carried by a multitude of rollers disposed in four section of a furnace and driven by electric sources, one source for each section through respectives electric motors. The actual difference in tension of the strip between the inlet and outlet of each section is compared with a corresponding reference difference tension stored in a tension profile control circuit to form a tension deviation. An allotment-of-tension scheduling circuit successively receives all of actual tensions and sets a tension to each section and a correction factor. After having been amplified by the correction factor in one multiplier for each section, the tension deviation is applied to a speed regulator to control its associated allotted of tension and a tension profile within the furnace. The tension profile is changed by first applying the correction factor to the multiplier coupled to that section essentially affecting the strip and then successively sequentially applying the correction factor to the remaining multipliers.

    摘要: A method for treating elongated flexible material such as metallic strips, wire and tubes in a processing container holding a treatment fluid for treatment of the material chemically, electrolytically, by pickling, deposition and similar processes, provides for the steps of: coiling the material; imparting the coiled material the shape of a helix having a plurality of loops; causing at least a partial immersion of the loops of the helix in the treatment fluid; advancing the helix in the said container at an advance speed; controlling the entry speeds of the helix relative to a predetermined speed withdrawal of the helix from the container.In a preferred and more efficient mode of treatment, the inlet speed of the helix exceeds the exit speed with a consequent slow and progressive increase of the length of the helix immersed in the treatment fluid at a time in a first phase of the operation.In an additional improvement of the process in a second phase the inlet speed of the helix is temporarily lowered for restoring the initial length of the helix. Optimum speed limits are identified.The progress of the loops within the container is subjected to momentary stops to control also the size of the loops. The helix is imparted forward and backward directed wave patterns of controllable amplitudes, durations and directions, resulting in optimum desirable treatment fluid exposures.

    摘要: A method of rolling rod in which at least first and second strands are jointly rolled in a mill line having at least one final multistrand stand operating at a rolling speed which is variable as a result of predictable rolling events. Downstream of this stand the strands are separated and passed through single-strand mill stands and loops are provided upstream of the first single-strand mill stand in each line. Each loop has a loop length which can vary between a minimum and a maximum value. Before each of the rolling events occur at least one of the loop lengths is changed to an event optimizing value.

    摘要: An apparatus for conveying elongated flexible material such as metal strips, wire and tubes by means of rotating shafts in a processing container holding a treatment-fluid for treatment of the material chemically, electrolytically, by pickling, deposition and similar processes, provides for the means of: coiling the material, imparting the coiled material the shape of a helix having a plurality of loops; causing at least a partial immersion of the loops of the helix in the treatment-fluid; advancing the helix in the said container at an advance speed; controlling the entry speeds of the helix relative to a predetermined speed withdrawal of the helix from the container.In a preferred and more efficient mode of treatment, the inlet speed of the helix exceeds the exit speed with a consequent slow and progressive increase of the length of the helix immersed in the treatment-fluid at a time in a first phase of the operation.In an additional improvement of the apparatus means are provided to temporarily lower the inlet speed of the helix. Improved means are provided to subject the progress of the loops within the container from a decrease in advance down to momentary stops to control also the size of the loops. The helix is imparted forward and backward directed wave patterns of controllable amplitudes, durations and frequencies with superimposed oscillations in three orthogonal directions, resulting in optimum desirable treatment-fluid exposures of the loops.

    摘要: Speed differential is detected between the entrance side and exit side of a looper, which is provided either on the feed side or on the delivery side of a central processing unit in continuous processing equipment and operates as a continuously supplying mechanism of steel plate, and positional relationship of movable rollers of the looper is detected, which virtually serves to diminish the speed differential, with reference to stationary rollers. By regulating the position of the movable rollers based upon the result of a calculation from the detected signals, the speed of the transported steel plate is controlled. First calculating apparatus calculates a relative speed differential based on the measurement of the looper entrance-side and exit-side speeds and the looper position and second calculating apparatus for calculating the optimum entrance-side speed based on the calculated result by the first calculating apparatus and the measured exit-side speed.
