    摘要: A night vision system along with an image intensifier tube and method for forming the tube are provided. The night vision system incorporates the image intensifier tube in both an analog channel as well as a digital channel, with an addressable display within the analog image intensifier tube analog channel configured to create an electronically addressable output. An analog image intensifier tube is included in the digital imager for presenting binary digital signals representative of an image, or of symbol indicia, and registering those digital representation from the digital imager onto one or more electron multipliers of the analog image intensifier tube within the analog channel. The provided night vision system also utilizes a cathodoluminescent screen, which is a highly efficient light source that reduces system power.

    摘要: An X-ray image intensifier has a vacuum envelope consisting of glass, and an input window consisting of aluminum and having a sectional meridian radius of curvature which increases from the central portion of the input window to the peripheral portion thereof is arranged on the input side of the vacuum envelope with a metal holding ring and a Kovar ring. An input phosphor surface is arranged adjacent to the inner surface side of the input window, and an X-ray image incident through the input window is converted into a photoelectron image. In order to minimize an influence caused by scattering of X-rays or .gamma.-rays incident through the input window, an input substrate is brought as close to the input window as possible. A coaxial cylindrical focusing electrode and an annular focusing electrode are arranged on the side wall in the vacuum envelope, and an anode is arranged on an output end side. An output window is formed on the output side of the anode, and an output phosphor member is arranged on the inner surface side of the output window. A transmittance with respect to a radiation beam increases in inverse proportion to the energy of the radiation beam. A transmittance abruptly increases in an area extending from the intermediate portion of the input window to the outermost periphery of the input window.

    摘要: A double layer having a hetero-junction interface for a storage electrode of an electro-optical camera device is produced by vacuum vapor deposition of n-conductive cadmium selenide or cadmium sulfo-selenide onto a n.sup.+ -conductive signal electrode layer comprised of tin oxide. The cadmium material to be vapor deposited is admixed with a small amount of a glass additive, such as boron oxide, the admixture sintered in vacuum and thereafter the cadmium material is vapor-deposited onto the signal electrode without spattering. The resultant hetero-junction is substantially free of metallic cadmium and such double layer is particularly useful in a Vidicon target.

    摘要: A camera tube having an electron source and a target to be scanned on one side by an electron beam emanating from the source. The target comprises a signal electrode and a selenium-containing vitreous layer containing tellurium, in a concentration which varies in the direction of the thickness of the selenium-containing layer, and arsenic. The selenium-containing layer is on the side of the target to be scanned by the electron beam, the signal electrode is on the side of the target to receive radiation. The tellurium concentration in the selenium-containing layer increases from the radiation-receiving side of the layer to the side which is scanned by the electron beam in such manner that over a distance of at most 0.3 microns from the radiation-receiving side, the concentration reaches a value of at least 41/2 atomic % and the arsenic concentration uniformly exceeds 11/2 atomic %.
