摘要: A cooling system for a vehicle propelled by an electric machine. The cooling system is arranged, when the vehicle is operated in a braking mode, to control a first and a second radiator valve to direct a flow of fluid from a radiator through a first fluid circuit and prevent the flow of fluid from the radiator to enter the second fluid circuit, control a compressor arrangement to flow a refrigerant in a direction from a heat exchanger to a condenser of a third fluid conduit, and control a second circuit valve arrangement to direct a heat source fluid to circulate through a heat exchanger and an electric heat source.

摘要: An electric drive system with heat management includes an electric drive unit coupled with a battery system and a power conversion system. An energy storage unit contains at least one phase change material and is configured to manage thermal energy. A cooling system is configured to exchange heat and has a fluid system extending through the drive unit, the battery system, the power conversion system, the energy storage unit, and the cooling system. The fluid system configured to collect heat from the drive unit, the battery system and the power conversion system; selectively expel the heat through the cooling system; selectively store the heat in the energy storage unit in the at least one phase change material; and selectively supply heat from the energy storage unit to the battery system.

摘要: A temperature control system for an electric vehicle includes a cabin temperature control system configured to control flow of a refrigerant through one or more heat exchangers to control a temperature of a cabin of the electric vehicle, a battery temperature control system configured to control the flow of a coolant through one or more heat exchangers to control a temperature of a battery system of the electric vehicle, and a power electronics temperature control system configured to control the flow of coolant through one or more heat exchangers to control a temperature of one or more power electronics. In a first configuration of the temperature control system, the battery temperature control system and the power electronics temperature control system may be thermally isolated, and, in a second configuration, the battery temperature control system and the power electronics temperature control system may thermally interact.

摘要: A method for controlling the temperature of a battery in an electric or hybrid motor vehicle by means of a system including a vapor compression circuit in which a first heat transfer composition flows, and a secondary circuit in which a second heat transfer composition flows, the method involving: —heat exchange between the battery and the second heat transfer composition; —heat exchange between the second heat transfer composition and the first heat transfer composition; wherein the battery includes at least one electrochemical cell having a negative electrode, a positive electrode and an electrolyte including a lithium salt composition, the lithium salt composition including: —at least 99.75% by weight of a lithium salt of bis(fluorosulfonyl)imide; —chlorides Cl—at a mass content strictly less than 20 ppm. Also a system for carrying out the method.

摘要: A temperature adjusting device includes temperature adjusting circuit that circulates thermal medium, first temperature sensor that measures temperature of thermal medium, battery thermally connected to the temperature adjusting circuit, second temperature sensor that measures temperature of the battery, heat generating instrument thermally connected to the temperature adjusting circuit, flow channel switching device that switches flow channel of the temperature adjusting circuit to form first temperature adjusting circuit which connects downstream of the battery and upstream of the heat generating instrument and second temperature adjusting circuit which connects downstream side of the battery and downstream side of the heat generating instrument, and control device that controls the flow channel switching device and that has intermittent operating mode of intermittently switching the temperature adjusting circuit to the first temperature adjusting circuit or the second temperature adjusting circuit based on the measurement results of the first temperature sensor and the second temperature sensor.

摘要: Battery packs are presented having structural members for improving thermal management of battery cells therein. In some embodiments, the battery packs include a first end-member positioned opposite a second end-member and parallel thereto. The battery packs also include a first side beam positioned opposite a second side beam and parallel thereto. The first side beam and the second side beam extend longitudinally between the first end-member and the second end-member. A longitudinal member is disposed between the first side beam and the second side beam and defines a plurality of longitudinal rows. The battery packs may additionally include a lateral member disposed between first end-member and the second end-member to partition the plurality of longitudinal rows into an array of battery cell compartments. A battery cell is disposed within at least one battery cell compartment.

摘要: A combined cooling and water braking system for a vehicle comprises a first water recirculation loop having a first heat exchanger configured to cool water flowing in the first water recirculation loop, the first water recirculation loop comprising a water conduit for transporting heat away from a propulsion device configured to generate a propulsion power for the vehicle. A second water recirculation loop having a second heat exchanger is configured to cool water flowing in the second water recirculation loop. A retarder is configured to be coupled to a pair of wheels of the vehicle. The second water recirculation loop may be selectively used for cooling the propulsion device and for providing water to the retarder for water braking. There is also provided a method for cooling a propulsion device of a vehicle and water braking a pair of wheels of a vehicle.

摘要: A thermal management system for an electrified vehicle and a method for managing such a system, according to an exemplary aspect of the present disclosure includes, among other things, a first cooling circuit, a second cooling circuit, and a third cooling circuit. The first cooling circuit cools a battery pack and includes a battery chiller in fluid communication with a cooling system inlet to the battery pack. The second cooling circuit cools the battery chiller and includes at least a first compressor and a first condenser in fluid communication with the battery chiller. The third cooling circuit cools a passenger cabin and includes at least a second compressor and a second condenser, and wherein the third cooling circuit is independent of the second cooling circuit.
