摘要: Technologies for quality of service based throttling in a fabric architecture include a network node of a plurality of network nodes interconnected across the fabric architecture via an interconnect fabric. The network node includes a host fabric interface (HFI) configured to facilitate the transmission of data to/from the network node, monitor quality of service levels of resources of the network node used to process and transmit the data, and detect a throttling condition based on a result of the monitored quality of service levels. The HFI is further configured to generate and transmit a throttling message to one or more of the interconnected network nodes in response to having detected a throttling condition. The HFI is additionally configured to receive a throttling message from another of the network nodes and perform a throttling action on one or more of the resources based on the received throttling message. Other embodiments are described herein.

摘要: Aspects of the disclosure relate to measuring and managing data traffic in one or more networks. In some embodiments, a monitor may measure the traffic at one or more locations within the network(s) or devices associated therewith to determine whether the traffic exceeds a threshold. When the traffic exceeds the threshold, one or more actions may be taken, such as issuing or transmitting a command or directive. The command or directive may advise a device or an application to throttle or reduce an input or stimulus responsible for generating the traffic. In some embodiments, a throttling may be effectuated to reduce the data traffic.

摘要: Embodiments herein facilitate the modification of data traffic load balancing on information handling systems affected by a networking information handling system having the status of one or more of its uplinks changed from operable to inoperable or from inoperable to operable. In one or more embodiments, an agent operating on or in conjunction with a networking information handling system (e.g., a TOR) detects a change in one its links. The agent sends a message to information handling system(s) (e.g., hosts) that are communicatively coupled to the TOR regarding the change in status. Based upon the TOR's message, a host may adjust its traffic load balancing to compensate for the status change. Embodiments, therefore, help efficiently utilize network pathways.

摘要: Systems and methods for providing bandwidth congestion control in a private fabric in a high performance computing environment. An exemplary method can provide, at one or more microprocessors, a first subnet, the first subnet comprising a plurality of switches, and a plurality of host channel adapters, wherein each of the host channel adapters comprise at least one host channel adapter port, and wherein the plurality of host channel adapters are interconnected via the plurality of switches, and a plurality of end nodes. The method can provide, at a host channel adapter, an end node ingress bandwidth quota associated with an end node attached to the host channel adapter. The method can receive, at the end node of the host channel adapter, ingress bandwidth, the ingress bandwidth exceeding the ingress bandwidth quota of the end node.

摘要: A congestion control method and apparatus is disclosed. The method includes, when usage information of a buffer in a device satisfies a preset first condition, determining at least one first queue from the buffer, and performing congestion control on the at least one first queue, where the first condition includes a first threshold corresponding to the usage information of the buffer, and the at least one first queue is a queue whose queue delay is greater than or equal to a queue delay threshold or whose queue length is greater than or equal to a queue length threshold in a plurality of queues in the buffer. In this way, the device triggers a condition of congestion control based on a buffer status.

摘要: Techniques for detecting path failures and reducing packet loss as a result of such failures are described for use within a data center or other environment. For example, a source and/or destination access node may create and/or maintain information about health and/or connectivity for a plurality of ports or paths between the source and destination device and core switches. The source access node may spray packets over a number of paths between the source access node and the destination access node. The source access node may use the information about connectivity for the paths between the source or destination access nodes and the core switches to limit the paths over which packets are sprayed. The source access node may spray packets over paths between the source access node and the destination access node that are identified as healthy, while avoiding paths that have been identified as failed.
