This composition comprises complex oxide particles having a non powdery conductive carbon deposit on at least part of their surface. Its method of preparation comprises nanogrinding complex oxide particles or particles of complex oxide precursors, wherein an organic carbon precursor is added to the oxide particles or oxide precursor particles before, during or after nanogrinding, and pyrolysing the mixture thus obtained; a stabilizing agent is optionally added to the oxide particles or oxide precursor particles before, during or after nanogrinding; and the nanogrinding step is performed in a bead mill on particles dispersed in a carrier solvent.

The invention relates to a process for preparing an at least partially lithiated transition metal oxyanion-based lithium-ion reversible electrode material, which comprises providing a precursor of said lithium-ion reversible electrode material, heating said precursor, melting same at a temperature sufficient to produce a melt comprising an oxyanion containing liquid phase, cooling said melt under conditions to induce solidification thereof and obtain a solid electrode that is capable of reversible lithium ion deinsertion/insertion cycles for use in a lithium battery. The invention also relates to lithiated or partially lithiated oxyanion-based-lithium-ion reversible electrode materials obtained by the aforesaid process.

The present invention relates to the field of electrode materials, and more specifically, to a carbon-deposited alkali metal oxyanion electrode material as well as to a process for preparing same. More particularly, the process for preparing the carbon-deposited alkali metal oxyanion electrode material comprises a dry milling step of precursors of the alkali metal oxyanion electrode material at an energy sufficient to cause the precursors to agglomerate into strong agglomerates, and a heating step comprising pyrolysis of an organic source to obtain the carbon-deposited alkali metal oxyanion electrode material.
