(1) a high melt strength ethylene-based polymer made in a tubular reactor, and
(2) a peroxide, and
(B) crosslinking the high melt strength ethylene-based polymer.-

Abstract: The disclosed adhesive compositions comprise (A) an isocyanate component comprising (i) an isocyanate and (ii) an isocyanate-terminated silane compound. In some embodiments, the isocyanate-terminated silane compound (ii) is the reaction product of a polyisocyanate and an isocyanate-reactive compound comprising a silane group and at least one isocyanate-reactive group selected from the group consisting of —OH, —SH, and —NHR, where R stands for an alkyl remainder having from 1 to 12 C atoms or a cycloaliphatic or aromatic remainder having between 6 and 12 C atoms. In other embodiments, the isocyanate-terminated silane compound (ii) is the reaction product of a polyisocyanate selected from the group consisting of isophorone diisocyanate, m-xylylene diisocyanate, mixtures thereof, dimers thereof, trimers thereof, prepolymers thereof, and combinations thereof and an isocyanate-reactive compound comprising a silane group and at least one isocyanate-reactive group of —NH2. Methods for preparing the disclosed two-component adhesive compositions, and methods for forming laminate comprising same, are also disclosed.

Abstract: Laminate film structures including an adhesive layer having gas and moisture barrier properties are disclosed. The disclosed laminate film structures comprise films bonded together with an adhesive composition, the adhesive composition having barrier properties, e.g., controlling oxygen and/or water vapor transmission rates. The disclosed laminate film structures comprise films made from polymers and/or metallized polymers whereby the weight, thickness, and/or number of film layers has been reduced by using a barrier adhesive in place of a standard adhesive while still achieving similar barrier properties. Methods for forming laminate structures having a desired barrier performance are also disclosed, the methods comprising determining the desired barrier performance of the laminate structure, selecting a barrier adhesive, selecting two or more film layers, including at least a first film layer and a second film layer, applying the barrier adhesive on a surface of the first film layer, and bringing a surface of the second film layer into contact with the barrier adhesive applied on the surface of the first film layer, thereby forming the laminate structure having a desired barrier performance.

Abstract: Water-based pressure sensitive adhesive compositions are disclosed comprising (a) an acrylic emulsion having a glass transition temperature of less than or equal to 20° C., (b) optionally, a dispersant or a silane-containing compound, and (c) an ethylene or propylene copolymer emulsion. In some embodiments, (a) comprises from 75 to 99 wt % of the compositions, (b), when present, comprises from 0.1 to 5 wt % of the compositions, and (c) comprises from 0.1 to 25 wt % of the composition, each based on the dry weight of the compositions. Methods for preparing water-based pressure sensitive adhesive compositions are also disclosed comprising emulsion polymerizing at least one unsaturated monomer, thereby forming an emulsion polymer having a glass transition temperature of less than or equal to −10° C. and blending the emulsion polymer together with a dispersant or silane-containing compound and an ethylene or propylene copolymer emulsion. Water-based pressure sensitive adhesives and pressure sensitive adhesive films are also disclosed.

Abstract: The invention relates to a polyethylene composition with a bimodal molecular weight distribution and articles made therefrom, such as high topload blow moldings and transmission and distribution pipes. The composition comprises a low-molecular-weight (LMW) ethylene homopolymer component and a homogeneous, high-molecular-weight (HMW) ethylene interpolymer component, wherein the LMW component is characterized as having a molecular weight distribution, MWDL, of less than about 8. The composition is characterized as having a bimodal molecular weight distribution, and a ductile-brittle transition temperature, Tdb, of less than −20° C. In some embodiments, the HMW component is characterized by a reverse comonomer distribution.

Abstract: Recyclable, all-polyethylene laminate film structures suitable for use in a flexible packaging are disclosed. Recyclable, all-polyethylene laminate film structures suitable for use in a flexible packaging are disclosed comprising (A) a sealant film layer consisting essentially of an ethylene-based polymer, (B) an intermediate film layer consisting essentially of an ethylene-based polymer, (C) a structural film layer consisting essentially of an ethylene-based polymer, and (D) a barrier adhesive layer, wherein the recyclable, all-polyethylene laminate film structure has an oxygen transmission rate not greater than 100 O2/m2/day, measured according to ASTM Method D3985. Articles comprising the disclosed laminate film structures, such as flexible packaging and stand-up pouches, are also disclosed.
