Abstract:
Systems and methods that provide an improved mechanism for attaching a sensor wire to a bus bar in a battery module are disclosed. A battery module according to the present disclosure may include a bus bar comprising a rivet hole and a plurality of battery cells electrically coupled to the bus bar. The battery module may also include a sensor wire comprising a terminal end, as well as a blind rivet passing through the rivet hole of the bus bar and coupling the bus bar to the terminal end of the sensor wire. Attaching the sensor wire to the bus bar with a blind rivet may provide one or more of the following mechanical advantages: fast assembly, robustness for low power applications, elimination of the need to wait for an adhesive to cure, and elimination of the need for double-sided access of the bus bar.
Abstract:
The present disclosure provides an adjustment aid for a joining device having a punch and a counter-tool which can be oriented coaxially to one another and can be moved axially towards each other for a joining movement relative to one another. Furthermore, the present disclosure provides a method for adjusting a joining device with a punch and counter-tool. A grid marking is embossed in a reshaped test part with the assistance of an embossable grid marking on a punch surface or on a counter surface of the counter-tool. This grid marking is evaluable in comparison to the discernible impressions of the punch surface and counter surface of the counter-tool.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for distributing a number of utilities. The number of utilities may be coupled between a number of utility sources and a utility fixture. The number of utilities may be coupled between the utility fixture and a mobile system.
Abstract:
A cylinder for storing a plurality of rings to be crimped, said cylinder comprising a base body including a distribution outlet, a main cylindrical body mounted so that it can rotate along a cylinder axis relative to said base body in a plurality of angular positions, said main cylindrical body comprising a plurality of sheaths which are parallel to one another and each suitable for accommodating a plurality of rings, each sheath being arranged so as to lead to said distribution outlet of said base body for a predetermined angular position of said main cylindrical body.
Abstract:
An interchangeable die comprises a die head, on which a die feature is formed, and a die shank extending in an axial direction from the die head. The die shank includes a first axial shank section, which is adjacent to the die head, and a second axial shank section, which is arranged on the opposite axial side of the first axial shank section from the die head. The first axial shank section has a first diameter and the second axial shank section has a second diameter smaller than the first diameter. The die shank is introducible into a shank receptacle of a die receiving section of a joining tool. A fastening contour for fastening the interchangeable die to the joining tool is formed on the interchangeable die. The fastening contour is configured such that a plug-and-turn connection is establishable between the interchangeable die and the joining tool.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a tool connection for arranging a riveting tool on a riveting tool receptacle, having a contact surface arranged on the riveting tool for supporting the riveting tool on a supporting surface arranged on the riveting tool receptacle. In order to provide a tool connection for arranging a riveting tool on a riveting tool receptacle, by means of which a repetitive riveting operation can be carried out without damage and it is particularly simple to replace the riveting tool, it is provided that a journal is arranged on one of the riveting tool or riveting tool receptacle and a journal receptacle is arranged on the other of the riveting tool or riveting tool receptacle, the journal can be introduced into and removed from the journal receptacle and the riveting tool can be releasably locked to the riveting tool receptacle by a magnetic force.
Abstract:
A piston-cylinder unit having a cylinder with an add-on part which has a fastening portion that contacts a contact surface of the cylinder. A positive engagement connection fixing the add-on part to the cylinder is provided between the add-on part and the cylinder. The positive engagement connection is formed by a deformable rivet that extends through the fastening portion in a final assembly position and forms an undercut with the cylinder.
Abstract:
A method of inserting a rivet (2) into a workpiece (42, 44, 46) comprises moving the rivet (2) and workpiece (42, 44, 46) relative to one another, along a longitudinal axis of the rivet, so as to drive the rivet into the workpiece. The rivet is rotated about its longitudinal axis, relative to the workpiece, for at least part of the time during which it is in contact with the workpiece. The speed of said rotation, or the speed of movement along the longitudinal axis of the rivet, is altered at least once before driving of the rivet into the workpiece is complete.
Abstract:
A blind rivet setting method enables a modified step approach to grip and pull multiple diameters of blind rivet mandrels to fracture, easily feed the remaining spent mandrel portion through a blind rivet tool, and collect and more efficiently dispose of substantially shortened spent mandrel portions when a blind rivet mandrel collection system is utilized.
Abstract:
A reaction tool for forming openings in an aircraft fuselage joint is provided. The joint includes (i) a first side from which a forming tool is to be applied at a plurality of opening locations and (ii) an opposing second side. The reaction tool includes a plurality of connectors configured to couple to the joint second side, and a reaction bar coupled to the plurality of connectors. The reaction bar is configured to extend across the plurality of opening locations. The reaction tool also includes a plurality of reaction members coupled to the reaction bar. Each of the reaction members includes a clamping surface configured to couple to the joint second side such that each clamping surface at least partially surrounds a corresponding one of the plurality of opening locations.
