摘要: An electrode cuff includes a first elongate portion and a second elongate portion. The first elongate portion is configured to removably contact a length of a nerve while the second elongate portion extends outwardly at an angle relative to a first side edge of the first elongate portion to at least partially wrap about the nerve. The electrode cuff includes a first series of electrodes that is spaced apart longitudinally along the first elongate portion. A width of the second elongate portion is sized to fit between adjacent branches extending from a nerve.

摘要: Systems and methods of performing rhythm discrimination within a patient's body using sensed hemodynamic signals are disclosed. The method can include the steps of receiving an electrical activity signal from an electrode located within or near the heart, detecting an event of the heart based on the received electrical activity signal, sensing one or more mechanical measurements using a sensor located within the body, analyzing a mechanical activity signal received from the sensor, and confirming the type of event based on the mechanical and electrical activity signals. The sensor can comprise a single pressure sensor configured to sense both atrial and ventricular activity within the heart.

摘要: Methods and systems for evaluating a pathological condition include acquiring movement information, such as electromyogram (EMG) information, and sleep disordered breathing (SDB) information, and detecting the presence of a pathological condition using both movement and SDB information. Methods may involve sensing physiological signals including at least muscle movement signals. Sleep-related disorders are detected using the sensed physiological signals, the sleep-related disorders including at least an involuntary muscle movement disorder and sleep-disordered breathing. Methods and systems also provide for detecting and treating a sleep-related disorder using movement and SDB information. Cardiac, respiratory, nerve stimulation, drug, or a combination of such therapies may be delivered to treat a detected or diagnosed pathological condition.

摘要: A cardiac rhythm management device for obtaining transthoracic impedance. The device comprises a sensor for obtaining a signal indicative of an action of a heart, an impedance measurement circuit adapted to measure transthoracic impedance and a processor for utilizing the signal indicative of the action of the heart to sample the transthoracic impedance at sampling intervals commenced by fiducial markers in the signal indicative of the action of the heart, where the sampling of the impedance signal removes the component of a stroke volume of the heart from the signal and thereby provides lung ventilation information.

摘要: According to various method embodiments, a person is indicated for a therapy to treat a cardiovascular disease, and the therapy is delivered to the person to treat the cardiovascular disease. Delivering the therapy includes delivering a vagal stimulation therapy (VST) to a vagus nerve of the person at a therapeutically-effective intensity for the cardiovascular disease that is below an upper boundary at which upper boundary the VST would lower an intrinsic heart rate during the VST.
