Abstract: A method, system, and computer program product for implementing automated serverless runtime container allocation is provided. The method includes defining a number of runtime containers and associated characteristics required for each worker node of a plurality of worker nodes for execution of a specified workload. The specified workload is dispatched to the plurality of worker nodes and a specified portion of the specified workload is assigned to each worker node. An application executing a universal runtime container that includes potential application runtimes and associated supported software versions within a layered modifiable format is generated and unused layers are removed from the universal runtime container. The specified workload is executed via the universal runtime container and a set of available universal runtime containers is refilled on an associated work node.

Abstract: Various examples are directed to an arrangement comprising a first hardware compute element and a hardware balancer element. The first hardware compute element may send a first request message to a hardware balancer element. The first request message may describe a processing task. The hardware balancer element may send a second request message towards a second hardware compute element for executing the processing task and send to the first compute element a first reply message in reply to the first request message. After sending the first reply message, the hardware balancer element may receive a first completion request message indicating that the processing task is assigned and send, to the first hardware computing element, a second completion request message, the second completion request message indicating that the processing task is assigned.

Abstract: Methods and systems are disclosed for distribution of a workload among nodes of a NUMA architecture. Techniques disclosed include receiving the workload and data batches, the data batches to be processed by the workload. Techniques disclosed further include assigning workload processes to the nodes according to a determined distribution, and, then, executing the workload according to the determined distribution. The determined distribution is selected out of a set of distributions, so that the execution time of the workload, when executed according to the determined distribution, is minimal.

Abstract: A first device may obtain metrics information associated with a second device, the metrics information indicating a measurement of a performance of a component of the second device, and the metrics information being obtained via a first network. The first device may determine a load of a processing unit of the second device based on the metrics information. The first device may determine, based on the load of the processing unit, whether the second device is capable of executing a portion of a job via a second network different from the first network. The first device may cause the second device to execute the portion of the job via the second network based on determining that the second device is capable of executing the portion of the job via the second network.

Abstract: A system and method for transitioning workspaces in a multi-device environment are described. In an illustrative, non-limiting embodiment, an IHS may include computer-executable instructions to receive a request to transition a workspace from the IHS to a computing platform external to the IHS. Based upon the request, the instructions calculate a first Best Known Configuration (BKC) for executing the workspace on the IHS, and transmit the obtained BKC to the computing platform. The computing platform uses the BKC to calculate a second BKC for executing the workspace on the computing platform based on the capabilities of the computing platform, and instantiate the workspace on the computing platform using the second BKC. The BKC is based on workspace parametric data associated with operation of the workspace on the IHS.
