摘要: An improved membrane electrode assembly (“MEA”) for an electrochemical fuel cell comprises coextensive ion exchange membrane and electrode layers and a rigid fluid impermeable integral seal comprising a sealant material impregnated into the porous electrode layers in sealing regions of the MEA. The integral seal envelops the peripheral region including the side edge of the MEA. The integral seal can circumscribe the electrochemically active area of the MEA and can also extend laterally beyond the edge of the MEA. An integral seal can also be provided around any openings, such as manifold openings, that are formed inside or outside the MEA. The seal has sealing features formed therein, such as raised ribs. Sealing features can be formed from the rigid sealant material or from resilient sealant material applied to the surface of the integral seal.

摘要: A system and method is provided for manufacturing a memory bill. The method can include the operation of creating a template for displayed face of the memory bill. Another operation can be cutting out the displayed face of the memory bill. Yet another operation can be adhering the displayed face to a center substrate in the memory bill. A further operation can be creating a template for a back face for a memory bill. The back face for the memory bill can be cut out, and the back face can be adhered to the center substrate for the memory bill.

摘要: A device for the fluid-tight sealing and separation of a pipe section by means of an ultrasonic welding device, including a sonotrode with a first welding surface, an anvil with a second welding surface that is assigned to the first welding surface, and a separating element which starts from the sonotrode and extends past the first welding surface. In order to be able to separate a section of a pipe in such a way that the pipe is sealed in a fluid-tight manner regardless of the side on which the section is located and without having to change tools or reposition the ultrasonic welding device, the sonotrode is provided with two first welding surfaces which are placed at a distance from each other and to which two second welding surfaces of the anvil are assigned, the separating element is disposed between the two first welding surfaces, and a recess which is located between the two second welding surfaces of the anvil is assigned to the separating element.

摘要: Apparatus for glueing two packaging material webs Described is an apparatus for glueing two webs (3, 4) of packaging material for the production of liquid-tight packs, wherein each web (3, 4) is covered at least at one side with a liquid-tight adhesive layer (58, 65) which can be activated by heat, comprising clamping means (5, 21, 27) for clamping the material webs (3, 4) fast, a cutting unit (11) for applying an inclined cut (16) extending substantially transversely with respect to the material web (3, 4), and a welding unit (30) for applying heat and pressure for glueing the material webs (3, 4) along the adhesive strip (29). In order when changing an empty roll to a new full roll at the factory to provide the material web with a factory adhesive location of adequate quality which ensures a higher and more reliable level of liquid-tight sealing integrity, it is provided in accordance with the invention that the welding unit (30) has a slider (31) which is displaceable along a transverse rail (28) substantially transversely with respect to the direction of travel (9) of the material web (3, 4) and on which are arranged a heating means (33) and therebehind in the direction of displacement (20) a pressure roller (38).
