    摘要: The disclosed invention reduces the possibility that an applicant who uses an unattended card issuing machine can change the contents of an application, intentionally or through error. Since the scanner device of an unattended card issuing machine also performs the image transmission function and a facsimile device is not necessary, there is a savings in the required space. Also, there is only one location where a document is positioned, whether an identification document or an application document, thus the operation will not confuse an applicant. The scanner device is so designed that it completely encloses and retains an inserted document, so that there are no problems when an application form is scanned and its image data are prepared. Thus, the possibility that the contents of an application may be changed intentionally or through error is substantially eliminated. According to another feature of the present invention, a shutter, which is freely opened and closed, is located along the paper feed route. When an identification document, such as a driver's license, is positioned on the scanner device, this shutter is closed and prevents that document from erroneously being carried in.

    摘要: A redundantly constructed liquid crystal display which has high aperture efficiency. Pixels are arranged in a matrix at the intersections of scan and data lines and storage capacitor lines are provided to supply the pixels with storage capacitors. The pixels are arranged in groups of two pixels adjoining each other by arranging scan lines (or data lines) in groups of two pixels closely adjoining each other. One storage capacitor line is provided for every two adjoining pixels between the scan lines (or data lines) and disposed in the same direction as the scan lines (or data lines). Two storage capacitors corresponding to the two adjoining pixels are provided for each storage capacitor line and one auxiliary storage capacitor is provided to be shared by every two adjoining pixels. Alternatively, both the scan lines and the data lines may be arranged in groups of two closely adjacent lines so that a unit or group of four adjacent pixels is formed. The storage capacitor line, then has associated with it a storage capacitor for each of the four pixels and a single auxiliary storage capacitor for the four pixels.

    摘要: A resonant tag carries a plurality of resonant circuits having different resonant frequencies. The resonant circuit is composed of a first conductive pattern formed by a conductive metal foil on one surface of an insulating thin film and a second conductive pattern formed by a conductive metal foil on the other surface of the insulating thin film. The first conductive pattern contains an inductor element and an element of the capacitor, which correspond to a resonant frequency of the resonant circuit. The second conductive pattern contains the other element of the capacitor element. The capacitor element of the second conductive pattern, which corresponds to the resonant frequency, is disposed at a position where it faces the capacitor element of the first conductive pattern formed on one surface of the insulating thin film. When the resonant tag is used, the conductive metal foils formed on the two surfaces of the insulating synthetic resin film are electrically connected so as to turn off part of the resonant circuits, so that the resonant tag can be identified by a combination of resonant frequencies inherent in the remaining resonant circuits. For example, n (two or more) resonant circuits having different resonant frequencies may be formed on a resonant tag so that the tag can be identified in 2.sup.n -1 (or 2.sup.n) different ways.
