Disclosed is a coating apparatus including flow coating and roll-coating that may be used for uniform sol-gel coating of substrates such as glass, solar panels, windows or part of an electronic display. Also disclosed are methods for substrate preparation, flow coating and roll coating. Lastly, systems and methods for curing sol-gel coatings deposited onto the surface of glass substrates using high temperature air-knives, infrared emitters and direct heat applicators are disclosed.

A rod-bed assembly has a holder (30) with a groove (31) into which an insert (20) is removably and insertably supported. The assembly has a rod (10) which is rotatably supported in a recess (21) on the front side of the insert (20). The material thickness (T) of the cross-section of the insert (20) is between 1-5 mm. The invention also relates to a rod -rod-bed assembly.

A manufacturing apparatus of a coating film product rolls a mixture coating material by a first roll and transfers the mixture coating material to a coated object in motion to thereby manufacture the coating film product. An arithmetic average roughness Ra on a roll surface of the first roll is higher than a value 0.05 times of a particle size “d10” in which an integrated distribution of particle sizes of particles included in the mixture coating material is 10% and lower than a value 20 times a particle size “d90” in which an integrated distribution is 90%.

A method for manufacturing a coating rod, comprising the steps of preparing a rod material, disposing a pair of form rolling dies having a plurality of helical convex threads, so that the closure angle of a main axis of each of the form rolling dies in the horizontal direction of the main axis is substantially 0.25° or larger but not larger than 0.35° with respect to an axial direction of the rod material, and form-rolling the rod material by feeding the rod material along the axial direction thereof and rotating the pair of form rolling dies around the main axes thereof, while clamping the rod material with the pair of form rolling dies.

An apparatus for producing a controlled dosage of bioactive agent is disclosed. The apparatus includes: a print device to eject a drop of a mixture onto an ingestible substrate, wherein the drop of mixture includes a bioactive agent within an ingestible carrier fluid and is between 50 ng and 1000 ng in size; a charge generating device adjacent to the print device to generate charge on the bioactive agent to draw the bioactive agent to the ingestible substrate; a cold fluid removal device adjacent to the charge generating device to remove a portion of the ingestible carrier fluid from the bioactive agent; an application device adjacent to the cold fluid removal device to apply an ingestible layer on top of the ingestible substrate encapsulating the bioactive agent or to fold the ingestible substrate on top of the bioactive agent encapsulating the bioactive agent; and a transfer device adjacent to the print device, the charge generating is device, the cold fluid removal device, and the application device to move the ingestible substrate from one device to the next.

According to one embodiment, a method for pressing roofing granules into a roofing membrane may include providing a roofing membrane and applying roofing granules atop a surface of the membrane. The method may also include adjusting a position of a second roller relative to a first roller so as to vary an amount of contact between the membrane and the first roller and pressing the roofing granules into the membrane via the first roller. In some embodiments, a line speed of the membrane may be determined and a contact value may be calculated based on the line speed of the membrane. The contact value may represent an effective amount of contact between the membrane and the first roller. The position of the second roller may be adjusted so that the amount of contact between the membrane and the first roller corresponds to the effective amount of contact.

The body includes at least one arm that supports a smoothing plate and pivots relative to the body around an axis of rotation so as to regulate the spacing between the two smoothing plates and return elements that tend to make the arm pivot so as to bring the smoothing plates close together.
