    摘要： Many commercial radiant energy processing systems, such as luminaires and light detectors, require highly efficient diffusely reflective surfaces that can withstand high temperatures. As disclosed herein, a reflector for such a device is constructed of a substrate with a reflective coating, for example painted onto one or more surfaces of the substrate. The coating material comprises a zinc oxide pigment, preferably an uncalcined zinc oxide together with a small amount of a dispersing agent. The pigment and water are mixed together with an alkali metal silicate vehicle-binder (preferably a potassium silicate), for example, in a sheer mixer. The resulting material can be painted onto the desired surface, for example by spraying, spot-brushing or dipping.

    摘要： The present invention discloses a device for monitoring chemotaxis or chemoinvasion including a housing comprising: a support member and a top member, the top member mounted to the support member by being placed in substantially fluid-tight conformal contact with the support member. The support member and the top member are configured such that they together define a discrete chamber adapted to allow a monitoring of chemotaxis or chemoinvasion therein. The discrete chamber includes a first well region including at least one first well, the at least one first well configured to received a test agent therein; a second well region including at least one second well, the at least one second well configured to receive a sample comprising cells therein; and a channel region including at least one channel connecting the first well region and the second well region with one another. The second well region is preferably horizontally offset with respect to the first well region in a test orientation of the device.

    摘要： A protocol independent multiplexer is described that allows for multiple different protocols that operate at different bit rates to be combined and output in a format that may have yet another bit rate. The multiplexer includes a series of inputting devices that are each coupled to a respective buffering device, a mapping device coupled to each of the buffering devices, and an outputting device coupled to the mapping device. Each of the inputting devices receive an input optical signal and forwards recovered data information to the corresponding buffering device. The buffering devices store the data information and output to the mapping device, the outputting being controlled by the mapping device to ensure that the buffering devices remain approximately half full. The mapping device formats the data information into individual data units and outputs the data units to the outputting device which subsequently multiplexes the data units. One key advantage of this protocol independent multiplexer is that only one piece of hardware is required for the operation of numerous different protocols.

The pipe gripping device includes a first set of slips for holding a pipe in a pipe light condition and a second set of slips for holding a pipe in a pipe heavy condition. The second set of slips are actuatable independently from the first set of slips. The pipe gripping device can include a slip moving system which prevents the slip carrier blocks from being driven outwardly against the housing, to thereby prevent the carrier blocks from locking, by being driven against the housing.
