Abstract: An agitation device for agitating products held in wells of sample vessels or a laboratory microplate is disclosed. The device is arranged to retain a microplate and to agitate an agitation member comprising an array of agitation projections which enter the wells of the microplate. The agitating motion can be horizontal and damping means can be provided between an actuator and parts of the device to reduce overall vibrations. A related method of agitation of microplate or sample vessel contents is described. A novel arrangement for receiving a replaceable agitation member for the device is also disclosed.

Abstract: A multipurpose blower assembly for stimulating flows in underwater environments, which includes a lower assembly connecting to an upper assembly by a rotating shaft and a mount post for connecting the blower assembly to a supportive structure near a water body and supporting the lower assembly below and the upper assembly above the water body's surface. The lower assembly includes a lower bracket for supporting a blower motor, whereas the upper assembly includes a top plate for mounting an electrical gear motor having an output shaft connecting to the rotating shaft and a system controller having a microcontroller communicatively coupled to logic circuits for controlling operation of the electrical gear motor for rotation of the lower assembly relative to the upper assembly and a linear actuator to move upward and downward the lower bracket to effect angular positioning of the blower motor.

Abstract: Disclosed is an apparatus and method for providing asymmetric oscillations to a container. The container may include a fluid, a particle, and/or a gas. A vibration driver attached to the container provides asymmetric oscillations. A controller connected to the vibration driver controls an amplitude, frequency, and shape of the asymmetric oscillations. An amplifier amplifies the asymmetric oscillations in response to the controller. A sensor disposed on the vibration driver provides feedback to the controller.

Abstract: A mixer for ceramic feedstock pellets with a tank, a mixing shaft, and a heat exchanger including a cooler for the cooling of the content of this tank is provided. A controller controls the heat exchanger which includes a heater arranged to heat the content of this tank to a temperature comprised between a lower temperature (TINF) and a higher temperature (TSUP) stored in a memory for a specific mixture, and the heater exchanges energy with a heat exchange and mixing temperature maintenance circuit, external to this tank, and wherein the thermal inertia of this circuit is higher than that of this fully loaded tank. The invention also concerns a method for mixing raw material for powder metallurgy, implementing a specific injection molding composition and a specific binder.

Abstract: The relative displacement in the axial direction between an outer ring fixing member or casing and an inner ring fixing member or rotor is determined, said outer ring fixing member being a member for affixing an outer ring of a bearing on one side, and said inner ring fixing member being a member for affixing an inner ring of the bearing on the one end side. When calculating a thrust load acting on the rotor by multiplying the determined relative displacement by a conversion coefficient, an axial force measuring bolt is used as a tightening bolt for affixing the bearing on the one end side, said axial force measuring bolt enabling measurement of a load acting in the axial direction. The axial force measured by the axial force measuring bolt and the relative displacement during measurement of the axial force are used to calibrate the conversion coefficient.
