摘要： A fatty acid amphoteric surfactant complex obtained by mixing a) at least one imidazolinium ampholytic surfactant of the formula: wherein R1 represents an alkyl or alkenyl group having 9 to 17 carbon atoms on average; and Z is 1 or 2; with b) a higher fatty acid selected from the group consisting of oleic acid, isostearic acid and a mixture of oleic acid and isostearic acid; wherein the ratio of said higher fatty acid to the total amount of said imidazolinium ampholytic surfactant(s) in said complex ranges from about 25:75 to 90:10. The complex containing an ampholytic and/or semipolar surfactant and higher fatty acid may optionally contain a clay mineral. Said complex may be employed in making emulsions.

摘要： Disclosed herein are a cation-exchanged clay mineral comprising a swelling clay mineral with the cations between layers substantially replaced by low-valence metal amine complexes and/or low-valence metal ammine complexes, and a packing material for chromatography using the same. Use of the packing material provides a sharp peak with respect to a highly unsaturated compound. Since the packing material is unlikely to be influenced by a solvent, it is usable for a long time with good stability.

摘要： An emulsion for hair treatment is provided which is characterized by the following: the formulation (I) is composed of a W/O type emulsion, which allows the main agent to be stable, and contains preferably an oil soluble polymer compound for the emulsifier; the formulation (I), upon being mixed with formulation (II), can easily undergo demulsification and a phase inversion into an O/W type emulsion; and the emulsion has adequate viscosity to prevent dripping from the hair and a superior dyeing capability. Also, 2-formulation type oxidation hair dye with an excellent hair dyeing effect is provided by adding isostearyl alcohol.

The liquid chromatograph includes a pre-focusing column (30, 40) having a volume of less than 2.0 milliliters and packed with a column packing material, in which a porous support is coated by a silicone polymer having a Si—R—X (R is a spacer part, X is a sulfonic group) bond and a Si—R′ (R′ is a hydrophilic group) bond, wherein the specimen to be analyzed is supplied to the pre-focusing column in the state dispersed in a solvent for condensation. The condensed specimen is then separated in a separation column (16, 43) used for separating the specimen dispersed in the solvent, and the separated specimen is analyzed by a detector (17, 41).

摘要： Low molecular weight acetylhyaluronate has the following characteristics: intrinsic viscosity: 50 to 200 cm.sup.3 /g substitution degree of acetyl group: 2.6 to 3.6 (excluding N-acetyl group) A skin-softening composition is mainly composed of this low molecular weight acetylhyaluronate. It can exhibit excellent skin-softening effect and moisturizing effect, while appropriately suppressing the thread-forming ability inherent in hyaluronic acid. A method of manufacturing acetylhyaluronate comprises the steps of suspending hyaluronic acid powder in an acetic anhydride solvent and then adding concentrated sulfuric acid thereto to effect acetylation. A method of purifying acetylhyaluronate comprises the steps of adding raw acetylhyaluronate to an aqueous acetone solution, adding and dissolving sodium lactate therein, and then adding highly concentrated acetone thereto to precipitate highly pure acetylhyaluronate. Acetylhyaluronate having highly purity can be obtained inexpensively.
