摘要： A method is disclosed for cryopreserving living animal cells in immunoisolation membranes, including: (1) cutting out a living organ from an animal, (2) digesting the cutout organ into the discrete living animal cells and separating the discrete cells, (3) suspending the separated cells in a solution of sodium chloride containing sodium alginate and collagen, (4) forming microcapsules of the living animal cells by using the resulting suspension, (5) forming immunoisolation membranes around outer surfaces of the microcapsules of the living animal cells by covering the outer surfaces with alginate-(poly-L-lysine) and thereby obtaining the living animal cells enclosed in the immunoisolation membranes, (6) suspending the resulting living animal cells enclosed in the immunocapsules in a cell damage-preventing solution, and (7) immediately freezing the thus obtained suspension with liquid nitrogen.

摘要： A DVD reproduction apparatus includes a video decoder capable of outputting smooth video data during forward or backward high-speed reproduction. The video decoder is intermittently supplied with data in VOBU (Video Object Unit) units. According to control by a controller, the decoder outputs the decoded I pictures or P pictures from a memory having a capacity of three or more pictures. In a case of forward reproduction, the pictures are outputted according to the time axis, and in a case of backward reproduction, the pictures are outputted in the opposite direction of the decoding order. Moreover, the decoder counts a VOBU passing time through a demultiplexer provided at a preceding stage and outputs respective pictures at averaged intervals. That is, because three pictures are outputted for each VOBU, pictures are outputted at an interval of the averaged VOBU passing time multiplied by ⅓.

摘要： A method and apparatus for reproducing data compressed in accordance with a motion picture experts group (MPEG) standard and recorded on a recording medium. The data represents a plurality of frames which correspond to a plurality of groups of pictures (GOPs), in which each of the GOPs includes different types of pictures including intraframe predictively (I) encoded and interframe predictively (P) encoded pictures. The compressed data is read from the recording medium, and the type of pictures corresponding to the read data is determined. The read image data is decoded and supplied to a display device. When special processing (such as, random accessing) is performed, image data may not be properly decoded during an initial period. During this time period, an auxiliary signal may be supplied to the display device. Such supply of the auxiliary signal continues until image data corresponding to an intraframe predictively encoded (I) picture and either another intraframe predictively encoded (I) picture or an interframe predictively encoded (P) picture are detected, whereupon the respective image data is properly decoded by utilizing the image data corresponding to the detected P and/or I pictures and supplied to the display device instead of the auxiliary signal.

摘要： A static apparatus includes an iron core which includes a plurality of magnetic plates stacked in one direction and in which a shaft portion having a main surface and a side surface is formed, and a coil wound around the shaft portion. Slits extending in an axial direction of the shaft portion are formed in at least a surface layer magnetic plate constituting the main surface, of the plurality of magnetic plates. Some of the slits are formed in the main surface, at an end portion close to the side surface, at a predetermined formation density. The formation density of the slits is highest at the predetermined formation density, and is reduced as at least one of a minimum distance from the side surface within the main surface and a distance from the main surface on a side close to the slits in the stacking direction is increased.

The foreign matters trap is capable of surely trapping metallic foreign matters in a gas insulated electric apparatus and suppressing concentration of an electric field to become excellent in voltage endurance and which can be readily mounted in a ground tank.
