    摘要: The invention is an adhesive composition comprising: a) an isocyanate functional polyether base prepolymers having a z molecular weight average (Mz) of about 10,000 to about 80,000 g/mole; a carbon black having an average oil absorption number of at least about 80 to at most about 400 cubic centimeters of dibutyl phthalate per 100 grams of the carbon black; (c) reactive silicon in an amount from about 0.001% to about 10% by weight of the adhesive composition; and (d) one or more catalysts for the reaction of isocyanate with hydroxyl groups. The adhesive compositions of the invention surprisingly may have improved sag performance (i.e., decreased sag) when heated, while also making them more easily pumped.

    摘要: The invention is a two part polymerizable composition comprising in one part an organoboron compound capable of forming free radical generating species amine complex and in the second part one or more compounds capable of free radical polymerization and a cure accelerator comprising a) at least one compound containing a quinone structure or b) at least one compound containing at least one aromatic ring and one or more, preferably two substituents on the aromatic ring selected from hydroxyl, ether and both, where there are two substituents they are located either ortho or para with respect to one another and a peroxide containing compound. The second part may further contain an agent capable of causing the organoboron compound to form free radical generating species upon contacting the two parts. The first part may further comprises one or more compounds capable of free radical polymerization. This facilitates formulating compositions that have commercially desirable volumetric ratios of the two parts. Adhesive compositions of the present formulation provide excellent adhesion to low surface energy substrates, such as plastics.

    摘要: The present invention is a laminate comprising a first substrate adhesively bonded to a second substrate through an adhesion promoter. The first substrate comprises a substantially linear olefin copolymer and the adhesion promoter comprises a polar group functionalized substantially linear olefin copolymer. The present invention is also an adhesion promoter that comprises a mixture of a copolymer of a C.sub.2-20 olefin and an ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid or acid anhydride and a polar group functionalized substantially linear olefin copolymer or a polar group functionalized copolymer of ethylene and a C.sub.3-20 olefin having a narrow molecular weight distribution, a random distribution of comonomer units along the polymer backbone, and a homogeneity index of at least 75. The present invention is useful in a variety of applications such as bathroom scales, shoe soles, carpet-backing, and automobile windshields.

    摘要: An electrically conductive adhesive composition effective for repairing discontinuities in the electrically conducting metal lines of rear window defoggers is disclosed. The composition comprises (a) an acrylic ester polymer resin (b) a metallic pigment and (c) an organic pigment.The composition is applied as a solid solution to the interrupted section of the metal line to bridge the gap in the line and the solvent is evaporated leaving an electrically conductive bridging layer which restores electrical flow to the line. The T.sub.g of the acrylic ester polymer resin should be such that the composition does not run, sag or otherwise lose its structural integrity when the metal line is heated to an operating temperature.
