    摘要: A valve operating system includes: a decompression cam member that is provided on a camshaft, and moves between an operative position C where an exhaust tappet is operated in a valve opening direction in a compression stroke and an inoperative position D where the exhaust tappet is released; an exhaust gas recirculation cam member that is provided on the camshaft, and moves between an inoperative position F where the exhaust tappet is released and an operative position G where the exhaust tappet is operated in a valve opening direction in an intake stroke of the engine; and a common centrifugal mechanism that is driven by the camshaft to operate the decompression cam member to the operative position C in a starting rotation region of the engine and to the inoperative position D after the starting, and operate the exhaust gas recirculation cam member to the inoperative position F in a low speed operation region of the engine and to the operative position G in a high-speed operation region. Thus, the valve operating system can exert both a decompression function and an exhaust gas recirculation function.

    摘要: A composite control valve is constructed by a valve housing, a negative pressure working chamber defined in the valve housing to communicate with a negative pressure generating section in the engine, a first control valve operable to be opened and closed with generation and extinction of a negative pressure in the negative pressure working chamber, and a second control valve operable to be opened and closed with the generation and losing of the negative pressure in the negative pressure working chamber. The first control valve is incorporated into an air vent system which provides communication between an upper space in a fuel tank and the atmosphere, and the second control valve is incorporated into a fuel passage system which provides communication between a portion of the fuel tank below a fuel oil surface and a fuel supply section in the engine. At least a portion of the air vent system is constituted by an inner air vent pipe disposed within the fuel tank, and a gas-liquid separating device is provided in an opening of the inner air vent pipe into the upper space. Thus, upon stoppage of the operation of the engine, not only the fuel passage system but also the air vent system leading to the upper space in the fuel tank can be blocked simultaneously, to prevent release of evaporated fuel generated in the fuel tank to the atmosphere.

    摘要: A variable stroke engine includes: a connecting rod connected at one end to a piston through a piston pin; a subsidiary arm turnably connected at one end to the other end of the connecting rod and connected to a crankshaft through a crankpin; and a control rod connected at one end to the subsidiary arm at a position displaced from a connection position of the connecting rod; a support position of the other end of the control rod being capable of being displaced in a plane perpendicular to an axis of the crankshaft. In the variable stroke engine, a switchover means switches over: a state in which a high expansion stroke is provided such that the stroke of the piston in an expansion stroke is larger than that in a compression stroke when an engine load is high; and a state in which a constant compression ratio is provided when the engine load is low. Thus, a reduction in fuel consumption is achieved irrespective of the level of an engine load, while putting a high value on a reduction in fuel consumption in a state in which the engine load is low.

    摘要: A family of novel perpetual and multi-year calendars is obtained by various dispositions of four calendar data components, namely (1) calendar data comprising indications of the days of the month by number, (2) calendar data comprising indications of the days of the week by name, (3) calendar data comprising indications of the months of the year, and (4) indexing feature. The calendar data components are arranged in pairs on first and second display devices, one of which is movable relative to the other. The indexing feature in the perpetual calendar designs comprises a set of seven index positions and a movable index element locatable at any one of these positions. The indexing feature in multi-year calendar designs comprises a set of seven index positions labeled with calendar data including indications of the years by number. The disclosed family of calendars also includes species wherein the calendar data components consist of multiply listed calendar data on a first display surface and a set of other calendar data on a second display surface having a frame for, and being movable relative to, the first display surface.
