Abstract: Systems, kits, methods of manufacturing, and a sealing member for creating a sealed space are described. The sealing member can include a film layer and a first adhesive layer coupled to the film layer. The sealing member can also include a second adhesive layer coupled to the first adhesive layer. A plurality of apertures may extend through the second adhesive layer. Each aperture can expose at least a portion of the first adhesive layer through the second adhesive layer. A plurality of polymer particles may be disposed in the first adhesive layer. The polymer particles can be configured to dissolve in response to interaction with a switching solution.

Abstract: A surgical drape is disclosed herein that is to be used for medical procedures in order to ensure sterile portions are not contaminated. The surgical drape can be configured to be placed around a surgical site where an operative procedure is to be conducted. The surgical drape includes a u-shaped opening, at least one sleeve, and at least one flap on its proximal end. The at least one sleeve and the at least one flap extend outwardly from a top surface of the drape. The at least one flap includes adhesive components on one side that allow the at least one flap to be folded back on to itself to provide additional protective barrier from contamination.

Abstract: A surgical drape support for positioning on a patient's chest to support a drape above the patient's nose and mouth includes a main arch defining an inner main surface, an outer main surface, a main crown, a first main base edge, and a second main base edge. A first lower foot extends downward from the first main base edge and away from the outer main surface. A second lower foot extends downward from the second main base edge and away from the outer main surface. A first upper foot and a second upper foot extend upwards and away from the outer main surface to a position above the main crown. When the first lower foot and the second lower foot are positioned on the patient's chest they are configured to support the drape over the patient's nose and mouth.

Abstract: Embodiments are directed to a medical robot system including a robot coupled to an end-effectuator element with the robot configured to control movement and positioning of the end-effectuator in relation to the patient. One embodiment is a method for removing bone with a robot system comprising: taking a two-dimensional slice through a computed tomography scan volume of target anatomy; placing a perimeter on a pathway to the target anatomy; and controlling a drill assembly with the robot system to remove bone along the pathway in the intersection of the perimeter and the two-dimensional slice.

Abstract: A device for detecting postpartum hemorrhage is provided. A mat defines a proximal end and a distal end. The mat is configured to be disposed between a support and a patient and has a surface with a fluid flow region configured to direct flow of bodily fluids from the patient towards the distal end of the mat. A first detachable and optionally sealable bag is configured to receive the bodily fluids from the patient in a first operational mode of the device. A second sealable bag is configured to receive the bodily fluids from the patient in a second operational mode of the device. The second sealable bag comprises a visual volume indicator to measure the bodily fluids collected in the second sealable bag.

Abstract: Disclosed is a protective device comprising a seal portion adapted to be fitted over an orifice of patient, the seal portion having a perimeter adapted to be substantially sealed onto the patient. The protective device has one or more flexible sleeves which provides a substantially air-tight surround defining a passage in communication with said orifice. The or each flexible sleeve, at an end thereof which is distal from said seal portion, has an opening adapted to accept entry of a surgical instrument or scope into said passage. There is sealing member provided at said opening which is adapted to provide a seal around said surgical instrument or scope so that, in use, said surgical instrument or scope and said sealing member provide an airtight seal to substantially prevent leakage of particles from the passage.
