    摘要: A variable valve timing control apparatus for an internal combustion engine having a crankshaft and a camshaft, the variable valve timing control apparatus including a hydraulic variable valve timing device, an intermediate lock mechanism, and an oil pressure control device. The control apparatus learns an intermediate lock position to obtain a learning value of the intermediate lock position when the intermediate lock mechanism locks the VCT phase at the intermediate lock position. The control apparatus computes an actual VCT phase based on the learning value of the intermediate lock position. The control apparatus computes a target VCT phase in accordance with an operational condition of the engine based on the learning value of the intermediate lock position. The control apparatus controls a control amount of the oil pressure control device such that the actual VCT phase becomes the target VCT phase.

    摘要: An internal combustion engine includes a driving shaft, a pair of camshafts for driving engine valves, a transmission connecting the driving shaft to a first of said camshafts and a transmission connecting the first camshaft to the second camshaft. The transmission connecting the two camshafts to each other includes a pair of articulated parallelogram mechanisms each having two crank members rotatable with end portions of the camshafts and connected to each by means of a connecting rod. The crank members are made up of circular discs eccentrically mounted on the camshafts and rotatably received in circular openings formed at the ends of the respective connecting rod. The two crank members rotatable with the same camshaft are spaced from each other by a determined angle.

The engine body has an intake valve for opening and closing an intake passage of a cylinder, an exhaust valve for opening and closing an exhaust passage of the cylinder, and an exhaust gas re-circulation passage communicating with the intake and exhaust passages and for partially re-circulating exhaust to the intake passage. During low engine load and rotation speed conditions, the exhaust valve is opened during an intake stroke, and the intake passage is choked. The exhaust valve is closed before the intake valve in the later stage of the intake stroke. An opening area SE of the exhaust valve is set so that a ratio of SE to an opening area SI of the intake valve meets a relation of: 0.01×(15−ε)+0.02≦SE/SI≦0.17

Fluid flow passages extend axially through the wall portion, between the circumferentially spaced support struts, wherein fluid flows simultaneously about the exterior of the wall portion and through the fluid flow passages in the wall portion when the valve member is biased to an open position.

    摘要: The valve system for opposed piston engines essentially comprises a single poppet valve opening into the common combustion chamber between the two opposed pistons of each piston and cylinder pair. The engine for which the mechanism is adapted includes a rotating internal cylinder surrounding each piston pair, with a stationary outer cylinder or case surrounding the rotating cylinder. The valve is pivotally attached at one side or end thereof to the edge of the valve port of the rotating cylinder, and is actuated by an arm or arms having guides (rollers, etc.) at the distal end(s) thereof, which are captured in corresponding cam track(s) or channel(s) formed in the fixed outer cylinder or case of the engine. The cam track has a variable radius, with the valve arm(s) and guide(s) alternately lifting and lowering as the guide(s) travel(s) in the variable radius cam track(s), thereby closing and opening the valve.
