    摘要: A rotary valve internal combustion engine has a piston (1) connected to a crankshaft (3) and reciprocatable in a cylinder (2), a combustion chamber 4 being defined in part by the piston. The engine has a rotary valve (5) rotatable with a close sliding fit in a valve housing (8) fixed relative to the cylinder (2), the rotary valve having a valve body containing a volume (9) defining, in part, the combustion chamber 4 and further having in a wall part (11) thereof a port (1)2 giving, during rotation of the valve, fluid communication successively to and from the combustion chamber via inlet and exhaust ports (13), (14) in the valve housing. The rotary valve and the valve housing are both formed of aluminum.

    摘要: The disclosure relates to an engine having a cylinder head which is divided into multiple sections which each delimit a combustion chamber of a cylinder of the engine and which each comprise inlet and outlet ducts, inlet and outlet valves, and a spark device which is fastened in a through hole of the cylinder head section, for at least one cylinder head section a throttle flap being provided for completely closing the corresponding inlet duct in the event of a deactivation of the associated cylinder. In the at least one cylinder head section, a first gas flow duct is formed between the through hole and the outlet duct, and the spark device is in the form of a rotary slide valve with integrated spark electrodes and is configured to selectively either keep the first gas flow duct closed or connect said first gas flow duct to the associated combustion chamber.

    摘要: Multi-section sleeve valves for internal combustion engines for improved aspiration. An open connecting rod section is separated from an internal, tubular passageway by a closed wall. A port section proximate the wall defines valve ports. A power stroke midsection borders the port section. An oiling section borders the midsection, and an open section adjacent the oiling section is in fluid flow communication with the tubular passageway. The lower-diameter midsection forms a relief annulus between the valve and the tunnel or sleeve in which the valve is disposed. Fluid flow occurs through the valve interior and through ports dynamically positioned above the compression cylinder, proximate aligned sleeve and head ports. Sleeve ports are separated by bridges that maintain valve rings in compression during reciprocation to prevent damage. High pressure gas is confined between axially spaced apart, stepped sealing rings that prevent gases from flowing axially about the valve exterior.

    摘要: An internal combustion engine is provided with an exhaust valve which has a tapered plug part, a tube-shaped member which is arranged in a region where the exhaust valve is arranged and which is engaged with the tapered plug part of the exhaust valve at one end part which faces a combustion chamber, and a fluid spring for biasing the tube-shaped member to the side facing the combustion chamber. The tube-shaped member is formed so as to be able to move substantially parallel to the direction of movement of the exhaust valve and the other part abuts against the fluid spring. The fluid spring is formed so as to contract using the change in pressure of the combustion chamber as a drive source when the pressure of the combustion chamber reaches a predetermined control pressure.
