    摘要: The present invention relates to novel complexes of major histocompability complex (MHC) molecules and uses of such complexes. In particular, the invention relates to MHC fusion complexes that contain a MHC molecule with a peptide-binding groove and a presenting peptide covalently linked to the MHC protein. Fusion complexes of the invention are useful for a variety of applications including in vitro screens for identification and isolation of peptides that modulate activity of selected T cells, including peptides that are T cell receptor antagonists and partial agonists, methods of suppressing an immune response of a mammal and methods for inducing an immune response in a mammal.

    摘要: This invention provides a novel process of using magnetically responsive fluorescent polymer particles comprising polymeric core particles coated evenly with a layer of polymer containing magnetically responsive metal oxide as highly sensitive quantitative reagents for biochemical and immunological studies, wherein the fluorescent magnetic particles can serve as a marker for the number of particles. A wide variety of polymeric particles with sizes ranging from 1 to 100 microns can be used a core particles and transformed into magnetically responsive polymer particles. The surface of these magnetically responsive polymer particles can be coated further with another layer of functionalized polymer. These magnetically responsive fluorescent polymer particles can be used for passive or covalent coupling of biological material such as antigens, antibodies, enzymes or DNA/RNA hybridization and used as solid phase for various types of immunoassays, DNA/RNA hybridization probes assays, affinity purification, cell separation and other medical, diagnostic, and industrial applications.

    摘要: Assays for separating magnetic particles include separating magnetically responsive particles from a liquid dispersion disposed in a plurality of reaction vessels, and transporting the reaction vessels in sequence past at least one processing position. A robotics reagent arm and probe dispense reagents into the reaction vessels and a reaction monitoring device is capable of relative movement with respect to the transporting device. Incomplete separation is effected by positioning a magnetic field in contact with the reaction vessel for a first shortened time interval during which the particles partially aggregate and afterwards are removed from the reaction vessel. The magnet is repositioned in contact with the reaction vessel for a third time interval to achieve full separation of particles from the liquid.

    摘要: A chromogenic assay for determination of blood coagulation Factor IX (christmas factor) utilizes Factor Xa formed by the conversion of Factor X by activated Factor IX and Factor VIII to cleave a chromogenic substrate. The sample is combined into a mixture with Factor XIa in the presence of Factor IIa (thrombin), incubated, combined with Factor X and Factor VIII, and incubated. A thrombin inhibitor, and an indicator agent which reacts with Factor Xa, are added and the resulting signal measured and correlated to the level of Factor IX in the sample.

    摘要: A high-speed burst digital time multiplexed data system has N parallel input data paths that are multiplexed onto a serial data path for transmission from a transmitter to a receiver. Serial transmission takes place in a short burst upon command at the transmitter. Data from the serial data path is demultiplexed back into N parallel data paths at the receiver. The entire process is accomplished asynchronously without the aid of a clock or framing signal. In the preferred embodiment, a train of N sampling pulses is generated by two tapped delay lines, one at the transmitter and one at the receiver. The length of each sequential sampling pulse is determined by the tap spacing of the delay line, and the duration of the entire burst process is equal to the total delay of the delay line. A new burst may be initiated at any time after the completion of the previous burst. Thus bursts may follow each other immediately or be arbitrarily spaced to occur whenever data transmission is required.
