Abstract:
A hydraulically operated attachment for machine tools in which there is a gear drive between a rotary cutting tool and a rotary hydraulic motor. The rotation axes of the hydraulic motor, gears and cutting tool are parallel to each other for providing a compact arrangement that permits operation of the cutting tool on the work piece close to the collet that supports and rotates the latter.
Abstract:
A support apparatus, for use in supporting a device such as a sex toy, the inflatable apparatus comprising an attachment portion and a holding portion which is attached to the attachment portion, and which defines an aperture therethrough, the holding portion having an inflatable element which is operable to adjust the size of said aperture.
Abstract:
A system that implements a scalable data storage service may maintain tables in a non-relational data store on behalf of clients. The system may provide a Web services interface through which service requests are received, and an API usable to request that a table be created, deleted, or described; that an item be stored, retrieved, deleted, or its attributes modified; or that a table be queried (or scanned) with filtered items and/or their attributes returned. An asynchronous workflow may be invoked to create or delete a table. Items stored in tables may be partitioned and indexed using a simple or composite primary key. The system may not impose pre-defined limits on table size, and may employ a flexible schema. The service may provide a best-effort or committed throughput model. The system may automatically scale and/or re-partition tables in response to detecting workload changes, node failures, or other conditions or anomalies.
Abstract:
Methods of positioning and orienting nanostructures, and particularly nanowires, on surfaces for subsequent use or integration. The methods utilize mask based processes alone or in combination with flow based alignment of the nanostructures to provide oriented and positioned nanostructures on surfaces. Also provided are populations of positioned and/or oriented nanostructures, devices that include populations of positioned and/or oriented nanostructures, systems for positioning and/or orienting nanostructures, and related devices, systems and methods.
Abstract:
A method of consolidating genealogy records includes partitioning the records using at least one index file to form one or more partitions, sorting the records in a partition based on a data element in the records, comparing records within a sort range, based on the comparison, identifying same person records, consolidating information in the same person records, receiving a request from a user to view at least a portion of the consolidated information for a particular group of same person records, and sending a file that includes the portion to the user.
Abstract:
A steering drive mechanism utilizes a pair of planetary gear arrangements between the input (or engine drive shaft) and the output shafts driving each wheel of a vehicle. The input is supplied to each sun gear in equal magnitude but opposite direction to account for driving the left or right wheels. The output shafts are connected to the planet carriers. In normal straight line driving, the ring gears are held fixed. The drive mechanism further comprises a steering motor that drives a steering gear that meshes with each ring gear. When the steering motor is activated, the steering gear rotates each ring gear in the same direction, so that the ring gear for one side increases the speed of the planet carrier and output shaft, while the ring gear for the opposite side decreases the output shaft speed. In this way, the turn can be executed without any appreciable reduction in vehicle speed. This steering drive mechanism also eliminates the need for complex differential gearing.
Abstract:
A gypsum board includes a set gypsum core and front and rear paper facers adhered thereto. At least the front paper facer has substantially isotropic tensile strength, thereby providing the gypsum board with enhanced nail pull resistance. A process for manufacturing such gypsum board is further provided.
Abstract:
A display panel mounting system comprises a mounting base having at least one pin, and a mating mechanism coupled to a display panel for coupling to the mounting base. The mating mechanism comprises a first plate fixed to the display panel comprising a pair of prongs having an opening for receiving the pin of the mounting base, and a second plate movable coupled to the first plate, comprising a latch for securing the pin between the pair of prongs of the first plate.
