摘要: The present invention is directed to methods to harvest, integrate and exploit nanomaterials, and particularly elongated nanowire materials. The invention provides methods for harvesting nanowires that include selectively etching a sacrificial layer placed on a nanowire growth substrate to remove nanowires. The invention also provides methods for integrating nanowires into electronic devices that include placing an outer surface of a cylinder in contact with a fluid suspension of nanowires and rolling the nanowire coated cylinder to deposit nanowires onto a surface. Methods are also provided to deposit nanowires using an ink-jet printer or an aperture to align nanowires. Additional aspects of the invention provide methods for preventing gate shorts in nanowire based transistors. Additional methods for harvesting and integrating nanowires are provided.

摘要: A system that implements a scalable data storage service may maintain tables in a non-relational data store on behalf of clients. The system may provide a Web services interface through which service requests are received, and an API usable to request that a table be created, deleted, or described; that an item be stored, retrieved, deleted, or its attributes modified; or that a table be queried (or scanned) with filtered items and/or their attributes returned. An asynchronous workflow may be invoked to create or delete a table. Items stored in tables may be partitioned and indexed using a simple or composite primary key. The system may not impose pre-defined limits on table size, and may employ a flexible schema. The service may provide a best-effort or committed throughput model. The system may automatically scale and/or re-partition tables in response to detecting workload changes, node failures, or other conditions or anomalies.

摘要: The systems and methods of the present invention facilitate database row-level security by utilizing SQL extensions to create and associate named security expressions with a query initiator(s). Such expressions include Boolean expressions, which must be satisfied by a row of data in order for that data to be made accessible to the query initiator. In general, a query is augmented with security expressions, which are aggregated and utilized during querying rows of data. The systems and methods variously place security expressions within a query in order to optimize query performance while mitigating information leaks. This is achieved by tagging security expressions as special and utilizing rules of predicate to pull or push non-security expressions above or below security expressions, depending on the likelihood of a non-security being safe, as determined via a static and/or dynamic analysis.

摘要: A mesh storage apparatus comprises a conformal mesh member (14), which is attached to a retraction mechanism (10). Because the mesh member (14) has a point of attachment (20), rather than multiple points spread along one of its sides, the force of the retraction mechanism or another applied force collapses the mesh member along its major diagonal (13) into an elongated form, similar to that of a cable, rope, or strap, allowing for easy storage. It, therefore, takes advantage of the contractility of the mesh openings and the behavioral characteristics of conformal material under tension to store the mesh member (14) in a much more compact manner than with traditional storage apparatus.
