摘要: An integrated circuit is provided for use with a supply voltage and which includes an input/output (I/O) circuit with an output driver with a pull-up transistor and a pull-down transistor and which includes an I/O pin connected to receive output signals from the output driver and connected to provide input signals to the integrated circuit, the protection circuit comprising: bias circuitry that imparts a bias voltage to the pull-up transistor so as to substantially prevent leakage current when a voltage applied externally to the I/O pin rises above the supply voltage; a switch connected to conduct current from the I/O pin to the supply voltage when the switch is turned on and to block current flow from the I/O pin to the supply voltage when the switch is turned off; and voltage clamp circuitry connected to clamp voltage on the I/O pin to the supply voltage when the switch is turned on; and programming circuitry which is programmable to turn the switch on and off.

摘要: A telecommunications network comprising a plurality of nodes interconnected via communications paths is configured by the determination of a routing plan for the traffic carried by the network. A set of possible paths, e.g. the eight shortest paths between each pair of network nodes is determined, and each path is allocated a digital code characteristic of that path identity. Groups of paths are selected, each group comprising one path from each set, and for each said group being characterised by a bit string comprising the digital codes of the paths comprising that group. These bit strings are then used as starting values or chromosomes in a genetic algorithm search procedure to generate and evaluate new path groups so as to determine an optimum combination or routing plan of paths between the network nodes.

摘要: Mining apparatus is disclosed in which a cutting wheel supporting a plurality of roller-cutters rotates about a horizontal axis and is supported on a slewing boom for cutting a tunnel with a flat floor and roof and elliptical walls as it slews across a mining face. The slewing boom is supported on a main beam assembly, the front end of which rests on powered crawler tracks and the rear end of which passes through a gripper assembly which may be clamped between the floor and roof of the tunnel, and against which the main beam assembly may be urged forward for engaging the roller-cutters with the mining face. A preload crawler is urged against the roof of the tunnel above the powered crawler tracks to locate the main beam assembly rigidly relative to the tunnel such that the roller-cutters may cut the rock in the mining face with minimal loss of cutting force due to vibration.

摘要: The armored door of a field artillery ammunition support vehicle has a door opener on each side of the door, the door being hinged at the top to the top of the vehicle for movement into raised substantially horizontal position to supply added protection for crew members. Each door opener includes a cylinder pivoted at its bottom to the floor of the vehicle with a rod actuated compression spring in the cylinder. The upper end of the rod is pivoted to the end of an arm and the arm is in turn pivoted to an extension from the door opening into the vehicle body. The other end of the arm is pivoted to a link which in turn is pivoted at its other end to the interior of the door. On opening of the door the spring which is compressed assists in raising the weight of the door and on closing of the door the spring compresses countering the downward action of the weight of the door. In door close position the four pivots are aligned on the axis of the cylinder and rod to assist in holding the door in closed position. The door may be provided with conventional manually actuable locking means and be extended at its bottom by a pair of doors hinged to the vehicle body on vertical axes for lateral outward movement for further protection of the crew and ship-lap joints are provided between the doors for waterproofness.
