摘要: A method of manufacturing a perpendicular magnetic write head capable of precisely narrowing a side gap is provided. A tip portion having a cross sectional geometry of an inverted trapezoid is formed in an opening portion of a non-magnetic layer and thereafter, the non-magnetic layer is etched with the tip portion as a mask. Thereby, a portion adjacent to the tip portion in a writing track width direction remains and an outermost edge portion of the tip portion in that direction is located on a plane which coincides with an etching face (side face) of the non-magnetic layer. When a gap layer is formed with a vapor phase growth such as a sputtering method to cover the side face of the non-magnetic layer and thereafter a side shield layer is formed adjacently to the tip portion therethrough, a thickness of the gap layer becomes extremely thin and is reproduced precisely. Therefore, the side gap is narrowed with high precision.

摘要: An optical path changing member is assembled at ends of optical fibers and placed to face a substrate including an optical input/output terminal having optical axes inclined with respect to optical axes of the ends. The optical path changing member is made of a transparent material and includes a member body having a reflection surface for optically connecting the ends to the optical input/output terminal. The member body has optical fiber insertion holes and an end placement portion to which the insertion holes are open and in which the end faces of the optical fibers are placed. The reflection surface is formed so that light entering from the end faces of the optical fibers into the member body will be internally reflected toward the optical input/output terminal in the member body. The end placement portion is filled with an adhesive by which the ends are fixed to the member body.

摘要: A bag holder has a plurality of engagement holes about parts to which an airbag device is attached. Each engagement hole has a first long inner wall surface and a second long inner wall surface that extend along a substantially tangential direction of a circle the center of which coincides with the central axis of the bag holder, or of an opening. Engagement claws of a pad cover each include an insertion portion inserted into one of the engagement holes and a claw portion protruding from the lower end of the insertion portion toward the first long inner wall surface. The bag holder has integrally formed fastening pieces, each of which includes a support portion and a pair of coupling portions. The support portion is located in the vicinity of one of the engagement holes, and the coupling portions connect the support portion to the corresponding second long inner wall surface at several positions. Each fastening piece is bent at the coupling portions so as to contact a side surface of the insertion portion on which no claw portion is provided.

摘要: A movable body spectrum measuring apparatus includes a spectrum sensor mounted in a movable body to measure spectrum data containing information including wavelength information and optical intensity information of a measuring object, a processor mounted in the movable body to discriminate the measuring object by processing the measured spectrum data, and a signal transmission path for transmitting the measured spectrum data from the spectrum sensor to the processor. The movable body spectrum measuring apparatus further includes a data transfer device which acquires reconfigured spectrum data by reconfiguring the measured spectrum data so that selected information as predetermined information is selected from the information contained in the measured spectrum data. The data transfer device transfers the reconfigured spectrum data to the processor via the signal transmission path.

摘要: A plurality of subfields of a field period includes a subfield for performing an every-cell initialization causing an initial discharge in every discharge cell in an initialization period, and includes a subfield for performing a selective initialization causing the initial discharge in a predetermined discharge cell in the initialization period. In a low-luminance subfield, the every-cell initialization is performed, and a low-luminance subfield is subsequently located (in the field period) to the subfield for the every-cell initialization. In a sustain period of the subfield for performing the every-cell initialization or a sustain period of the low-luminance subfield, a width of a first sustain pulse is set wider than a width of a second sustain pulse, and the width of the second sustain pulse is set wider than the width of a third sustain pulse and subsequent others.

摘要: A method drives a panel and a plasma display unit, wherein one field includes a plurality of subfields, each having an addressing period for producing an address discharge selectively in the discharge cells, and a sustaining period for producing a sustain discharge by applying a number of sustaining pulses corresponding to a weight of brightness in a discharge cell where the address discharge has been produced. Additionally, a sustaining pulse generator circuit includes a power recovery section for controlling the rising or the falling of the sustaining pulse by producing resonance between an inter-electrode capacitance of a display electrode pair and an inductor, and a clamping section for clamping a voltage of the sustaining pulse at a predetermined potential, wherein the power recovery section is used to set twice a time of the rising of the sustaining pulse to be equal to or longer than a duration of the sustaining pulse.
