Abstract:
A portable traction device can include a sling that is sized to cradle a user's head primarily at the back and lower part of the skull. The sling can be associated with flexible elastic tethers that are, in turn, associated with an anchor that is positioned a height above the floor when the portable traction device is in use. A tensile force vector between the anchor and the sling allows for cervical traction. The sling can additionally be associated with speakers and/or resonant actuators and can be simplified to increase portability and ease of use.

Disclosed is a backbone retraction apparatus which includes a support member supporting a hip of a user, a center member coupled to the support member by a hinge structure, a backrest member inserted into the center member, a neck support member inserted into the backrest member, moving means comprising a wire having a first side fixed to the center member and a second side fixed to the neck support member and a first latching protrusion protruded from the backrest member and adapted to have the wire hung on the first latching protrusion, the second side of the wire being fixed under the first latching protrusion, and length adjustment means adapted to be connected to the support member and the backrest member.

Embodiments may include a traction system, for example a cervical traction system for a neck of a user. Systems may include a housing assembly, plate assembly, handle assembly, and cable assembly. The housing assembly may include a drive assembly. The plate assembly may be operatively connected to the drive assembly. The handle assembly may be operatively connected to the drive assembly. The handle assembly may be configured to actuate movement of the plate assembly relative to the housing assembly. Embodiments may be configured to apply traction to the neck thereby providing a distraction distance or force to a portion of the cervical spine.

A multi-function, adjustable chiropractic table comprises a body section fixed to a table frame. A cervical section is movably attached to the table frame and securable at a desired angle. The cervical section comprises a padded head support, forehead strap, and neck bolsters. The head support is slidably mounted in a tray and translatable therein using a scissors mechanism, for linear axial traction. Pivotally mounting the tray to the cervical section permits lateral traction. A four-bar linkage, including a base frame, permits raising/lowering of the table using an actuator activated by a foot triggered wave switch comprising proximity sensors. The body section comprises a chest, lumbar, and leg sections. The chest section is replaceable with a treatment nodule comprising hot and cold compresses, or a laser enhanced spinal decompression therapy apparatus comprising a laser driven by two linear actuators to emit light according to one or more treatment protocols.

A method of rehabilitation using an actuator type that includes a movement mechanism capable of applying a force that interacts with a motion of a patient's limb in a volume of at least 30 cm in diameter, in at least three degrees of freedom of motion of the actuator and capable of preventing substantial motion in any point in any direction in said volume, comprising: exercising a patient at a first place of rehabilitation selected from a bed, a wheel-chair, a clinic and a home, using an actuator of said actuator type which interacts with a motion of said patient; and second exercising said patient at a second place of rehabilitation selected from a bed, a wheel-chair, a clinic and a home using a second actuator of said actuator type which interacts with a motion of said patient; wherein said first exercising and said second exercising utilize a same movement mechanism design for moving the actuators.

A medical device such as a defibrillator that incorporates corrective voice prompts that navigate users around operator errors. The voice prompts may, for example, address errors of readiness (e.g., failing to connect the defibrillator to an AC power source, failing to pre-connect electrodes, etc.), errors of omission (i.e., forgetting to do something, such as attempting to deliver a shock before the defibrillator is charged), and errors of commission (i.e., doing the wrong thing, such as attempting to shock VF when in the synchronization mode). The voice prompts may address errors in the delivery of therapy (e.g., attempting to shock VF when in the synchronization mode) or they may address errors other than in the delivery of therapy (e.g., failing to connect to an AC power source).

An exercise assistive device to help a developmentally developed person, or a physically or neurologically impaired person, such as a child or adult, develop vestibular balance and muscle control, so that the person can learn to perform mobility activities, such as crawling, sitting upright, standing or walking. The device includes a support frame supporting a body suit that is moved longitudinally, and optionally transversely and rotationally. The body suit may be optionally spinally supported. The body suit is optionally suspended from either a hand-held frame, like a marionette, or from a floor-mounted, wall-mounted or ceiling mounted frame with a glidable support dolly. Flexible connector straps are provided between the body suit and body suit glidable support dolly and made of a material such as reinforced fabric, elastic or canvas. These connector straps are positioned in spaced-apart relation to one another about the body suit. The body suit is suspended from the seat-support leg by the connector straps that extend between the body suit and fasteners. The fasteners upon the body suit are strategically placed to assist the person assume various postural positions ranging from the upright sitting or standing position, such as at the shoulders, to oblique or horizontal crawling quadruped positions. The person may be encouraged to travel forward, backward or sideways by sensory attractive items, such as mirrors, toys, netting arrays or pull bars.

An artificial penis has a cylinder having a cylinder wall enclosing a hollow, a front wall with a first opening and a rear wall with a second opening. A piston rod is guided within the hollow. The piston rod has an initial position in which a first cylinder space is at a maximum and a second cylinder space is at a minimum and an extended position in which the first cylinder space is at a minimum and the second cylinder space at a maximum. A pump supplies a fluid under pressure to move the piston rod in an extending direction. An enclosure having an outer shape of a penis encloses the cylinder and the end of the piston rod. The enclosure has an initial position when the pump is released and an extended position when the pump is actuated.

The present invention discloses a massager with a retractable massage head, comprising a housing, in which there is a driving assembly. On top of the housing, there is the massage head connected with the driving assembly in a transmission way; between the housing and the massage head, there are jacking support, jacking part, and jacking bracket. The jacking bracket is connected with the top of the housing in a fixed way, the bottom of the massage head is connected with a transmission shaft in a fixed way, the end of the transmission shaft away from the massage head passes through the jacking support, the supporting part, the supporting bracket, and the top of the housing and is connected with the driving assembly, and there is a reset spring at the end of the transmission shaft connected with the driving assembly. Based on the aforesaid design, it is possible to extend the massage head by providing the jacking part, so as to meet the usage requirements of different people. Furthermore, by providing the sliding transmission shaft and the reset spring, the transmission shaft will be extended and retracted synchronously when the massage head is extended and retracted, so as to achieve the complete retraction of the massage head as a whole without affecting the other ways to use the massager, and improve the usage experience of the user.
