Abstract:
An integrated plant to generate chemical grade syngas from a steam biomass reforming in a multiple stage bio reforming reactor for use with either a high temperature or low temperature Fischer-Tropsch synthesis process to produce fuel from biomass is discussed. The first stage has a reactor to cause a chemical devolatilization of a biomass feedstock from the biomass feedstock supply lines into its constituent gases of CO, H2, CO2, CH4, tars, chars, and other components into a raw syngas mixture. A second stage performs further reforming of the raw syngas from the first stage into the chemical grade syngas by further applying heat and pressure to chemically crack at least the tars, reform the CH4, or a combination of both, into their corresponding syngas molecules. The second stage feeds the chemical grade syngas derived from the biomass feedstock to the downstream Fischer-Tropsch train to produce the fuel from the biomass. One or more recycle loops supply tail gas or FT product back into the plant.
Abstract:
A system includes an integrated reactor-syngas cooler that may gasify a feedstock. The integrated reactor-syngas cooler includes a reaction zone that may receive a first syngas and the feedstock, and that may gasify the feedstock to generate a second syngas. The second syngas has a composition different from the first syngas. The system also includes one or more feed injectors disposed in the integrated reactor-syngas cooler and that may supply the feedstock to the reaction zone and a cooling zone disposed downstream of the reaction zone and including one or more cooling tubes. The cooling zone may receive and cool the second syngas.
Abstract:
Method and equipment for producing coke (PC) during indirectly heated gasification, in which coal particles are supplied to a gasification reactor (1) and process gas (P) supplied during the gasification is reduced in it to synthesis gas (S), whereby the synthesis gas (S) is removed from the gasification reactor (1). The method is distinguished in that at the same time a gasification takes place, a coking of coal takes place in an inner reactor (4) arranged inside the gasification reactor (1), that the inner reactor (4) is indirectly heated, that coke (PC) and combustible gases are produced in the inner reactor (4) during the coking, and that the combustible gases are used for the indirect heating in the gasification in the gasification reactor (1).

Abstract:
A system and method for providing an integrated indirectly fired reactor and steam generator are disclosed. According to one embodiment, the reactor comprises an indirect heating zone heating water and generating steam, a mixing zone mixing feedstock and the steam and providing a mixture of the feedstock and the steam, and a reaction zone comprising a first reactor and a second reactor. The first reactor converts the mixture to a first syngas at a first temperature. The second reactor converts the first syngas to a second syngas at a second temperature, the second temperature being higher than the first temperature.

Abstract:
A gasification reactor comprising a pressure vessel encasing a gasifier. Strain gauges are provided in the space between the gasifier tubular wall and the pressure vessel on one or more parts loaded by weight of slag within the gasifier, at the exterior surface of the gasifier tubular wall and/or coolant supply lines. Formation of slag deposits and/or pressure within the gasifier is monitored by measuring strain development in parts exposed to stress induced by weight of the slag deposits or induced by internal pressure, respectively.
