摘要: Integral optical stacks and optical systems including the integral optical stack are described. The integral optical stack may include first and second lenses, a partial reflector, a reflective polarizer curved about two orthogonal axes, and a quarter wave retarder. The reflective polarizer is curved about two orthogonal axes and includes at least one layer that is substantially optically biaxial at at least one first location on the at least one layer away from an optical axis of the optical stack and substantially optically uniaxial at at least one second location away from the optical axis.

摘要: A first projection display apparatus includes a color separator (41A) that has first and second incident surfaces (S1a and S1b), and allows light in first to third wavelength bands to pass therethrough or reflects the light in the first to third wavelength bands; first to third reflective light modulators (15); a first polarization splitter (12G); a second polarization splitter (12RB); and a projection optical system (19). Light in at least one of the first to third wavelength bands enters the first incident surface of the color separator as first polarized light, and light in the other wavelength bands enters the second incident surface of the color separator as second polarized light orthogonal to the first polarized light.

摘要: Optical systems including an image surface, a stop surface, a partial reflector disposed between the image surface and the stop surface, a reflective polarizer disposed between the stop surface and the partial reflector, and a quarter wave retarder disposed between the reflective polarizer and the partial reflector are described. The reflective polarizer is convex along two orthogonal axes. The reflective polarizer may be a thermoformed multilayer reflective polarizer.

摘要: A system for projecting an image, including layout information, on a surface in a building under construction has a projector mounted on a moveable support for supporting a worker at a work position in the building. The projector projects an image on a surface above the moveable support in response to an image signal defining the image to be projected. The image indicates the location of connectors, anchors, and holes to be affixed to, or cut through, the surface. A system determines the two dimensional position of the projector in the building, and a distance measuring system for determines the distance from the projector to said surface. A processor, responsive to a memory having stored building plan images, provides an image signal to the projector adjusted for the two dimensional location of the projector and for the distance from the projector to the surface.

摘要: Image projection devices, high-speed fiber scanned displays and related methods for projecting an image onto a surface and interfacing with the projected image are provided. A method for projecting one or more images and obtaining feedback with an optical input-output assembly is provided. The input-output assembly comprising a light-scanning optical fiber and a sensor. The method includes generating a sequence of light in response to one or more image representations and a scan pattern of the optical fiber, articulating the optical fiber in the scan pattern, projecting the sequence of light from the articulated optical fiber, and generating a feedback signal with the sensor in response to reflections of the sequence of light.

摘要: A system for dynamically projecting a logo onto a surface includes a light source, moveable lenses, and an actuator. The light source emits light toward the surface. The lenses are positioned with between the light source and the surface, with each lens having multiple transparent portions configured to permit some of the emitted light to pass through the lens in a corresponding light pattern. Each corresponding light pattern forms a different part of the logo. The actuator moves the lenses with respect to the emitted light in response to a control signal to thereby cause projection of the logo onto the surface. A vehicle includes a body having a door, road wheels in contact with a road surface, and the system which projects the logo onto the road surface proximate the door. The controller may be programmed to execute a method for projecting the logo.

摘要: A multi-modal display device is presented. The display device has a shell having an internal projection screen and an opening, a projector emitting a projection beam from inside the shell. There is an optical guide adjusting a position of the projector to aim the projection beam at either the internal projection screen or the opening. A processor coupled to the optical guide may select a display position, wherein different display positions are associated with different display area sizes. The method includes determining a distance between a projector and a user, and automatically selecting a display mode based on the distance.
