    摘要: A method and related apparatus are disclosed of guaranteeing VIN registration to a vehicle's ECU. A vehicle identifier is entered into a production control system connected to a network. The entered vehicle identifier is compared with an expected vehicle identifier. If a match is obtained between the entered and expected vehicle identifiers, the vehicle identifier is sent from the production control system to a vehicle Immobilizer. A vehicle identifier acknowledgement is received at the production control system from the vehicle Immobilizer. The production control system verifies the vehicle identifier embedded in the acknowledgement. If a match is obtained, an information record associated with the vehicle identifier is sent from the production control system to the vehicle Immobilizer.     摘要: A valve operating system that includes a drive shaft, a drive lever that is fixedly provided thereon and can pivot in a direction of movement of a valve body, a follower arm that is fixedly provided on the valve body, a link, a first connecting shaft that connects one end of the link and the drive lever, and a second connecting shaft that connects the other end of the link and the follower arm; in response to a movement of the valve body from a first position to a second position by pivoting of the drive lever, a center of the first connecting shaft approaches from one side a straight line connecting two centers of the drive shaft and the second connecting shaft, and after the valve body reaches the second position, further pivoting of the drive lever is carried out through a predetermined angle so that the center of the first connecting shaft moves to the other side of a dead point on the straight line. Thereby a valve body can be held at one position with hardly any dependence on the output of an actuator, thus greatly reducing the load on the actuator.

    摘要: The invention provides novel, carrot-derived MITE-like elements (transposable elements). It further provides transcriptional activation elements comprising at least one transposable element, in particular one of the above MITE-like elements. Specifically, it provides transcriptional activation elements having a DNA comprising the nucleotide sequence shown under SEQ ID NO:1 or a functional equivalent thereto and/or a DNA comprising the nucleotide sequence shown under SEQ ID NO:2 or a functional equivalent thereto. The transcriptional activation elements of the invention can increase or activate the reduced expression of a foreign gene introduced by the transgenic technology. Therefore, the transcriptional activation elements contribute to stable expression of a foreign gene introduced in a plant genome and are useful in stably producing genetically modified plants.

When the power plant stops operating, a controller (30) first recovers water in the water passage (9B) to the water tank (10). Also, the freezing probability of the water passage (9B) is determined from the temperature detected by an outside air temperature sensor (31), and a wait time is set according to the freezing probability. By opening a drain valve (15) and draining residual water in the water passage (9B) after the wait time has elapsed, freezing of the water passage (9B) can be prevented with a minimum water drainage amount.

    摘要: A clip-type electrode for an electrocardiograph includes a pair of clamping plates for being opened and closed relative to each other about a common shaft and having concave surfaces facing each other, an electrode member mounted on one of the clamping plates, and a leaf spring bent into a U-shaped configuration for biasing ends of the clamping plates remote from the common shaft towards each other. Each of the pair of clamping plates has a slot at a position adjacent to the shaft for accommodating the leaf spring passed therethrough, and a plurality of grooves formed in an outer surface thereof and spaced at successively greater distances from the shaft. One end of the leaf spring is fitted into a one of the plurality of grooves in one of the clamping plates, and the other end of the leaf spring is fitted into one of the plurality of grooves in the other of the clamping plates, the grooves being chosen based upon the thickness of a limb, such as the wrist or ankle of a human body, that is to have the clip-type electrode attached thereto. The limb can thus be clamped with a prescribed clamping force irrespective of the thickness of the limb.
