    摘要： A photonic switching method and a photonic switch utilizing the method are disclosed. Input electrical signals Ea.about.Ed are input through plural input ports 21a.about.21d are converted into optical signals with the pulse intervals of these input electrical signals being preserved unchanged. The converted optical signals are timing adjusted within the pulse interval and multiplexed in such a manner that these optical signals do not overlap with each other on the time axis. The resulting multiplexed optical signals are transferred to output ports 19a.about.19d. An optical signal, from among the multiplexed optical signals, which should be output at a target output port is separated by utilizing a mutual optical interactional function, for example, a four optical wave mixture.

    摘要： A switching apparatus is operated by a non contact motion made by a user. The switching apparatus is effectively used to control a mechanism, particularly a mechanism for driving a robot, by the non contact motion or gesture made by the user without touching the switching apparatus itself. The user can control or move indications, for example views of a dog, displayed on an image displaying equipment provided with the switching apparatus by his (her) motion or gesture without touching the switching apparatus. Therefore, the user can enjoy feeling as if he actually orders his dog.

    摘要： A positive resists material for high energy-sensitive positive resists which can be developed in aqueous alkali solution, said material comprising (A) a polyhydroxystyrene resin wherein some hydroxyl groups are substituted by t-butoxycarbonyloxy groups, (B) a solution blocking agent, and (C) an onium salt, and being characterized in that said solution blocking agent contains at least one t-butoxycarbonyloxy group per molecule, said onium salt is bis(p-t-butylphenyl) iodinium trifluormethylsulfonate represented by the following formula (1): ##STR1## and the weight proportions of (A), (B), (C) are given by the relations: 0.07.ltoreq.B-.ltoreq.0.40, 0.005.ltoreq.C.ltoreq.0.15, 0.55.ltoreq.A, A+B+C=1. As the resist has low absorption at the exposure wavelength of a KrF exima laser, a fine pattern having vertical walls is easily formed.

    摘要： The disclosed invention relates to a cell unit for use in observing an electophoresis which utilizes a measurement cell which accommodates a liquid specimen. A pair of conduit elements are used to introduce and discharge the liquid specimen into and from the measurement cell with one of the conduit elements having a flexible tube portion. Also included is a pair of valves for closing a pair of conduit elements with at least one of the valves being utilized as a pinch valve to pinch the flexible tube. A pair of housing elements accommodate a pair of electrodes with the electrodes producing an electric potential gradient in the specimen. Lastly, a pair of diaphragm elements are each disposed between the measurement cell and one of the pair of housing elements in order to separate a space in the measurement cell from the space in the associated housing element. One of the pair of diaphragm elements is disposed in order to absorb a fluctuation of pressure in the liquid in a particular space defined by the pair of diaphragm elements and the valves in order to securely and easily seal the liquid specimen within the space defined by the pair of diaphragm elements and the valves. The device is also used to minimize the flow of liquid specimen within the measurement cell after sealing.
