Abstract: A printed circuit board (PCB) includes two power supply units, a central processing unit (CPU), two inductors and a temperature compensation resistor. One of the inductor is electrically connected between one power supply unit and the CPU, the other inductor is electrically connected between another power supply unit and the CPU. Abstract: An apparatus for dispensing liquid fuel comprises a plurality of inlet valves, each connected in-line with a respective inlet pipe in fluid communication with a respective source of a specific liquid fuel. A plurality of outlet valves are also provided, each connected in-line with a respective outlet pipe. A respective fuel hose is in fluid communication with each of the outlet pipes. The apparatus further comprises a coriolis flow meter located between the inlet valves and outlet valves, the coriolis flow meter providing a flow signal indicative of flow therethrough. A controller is operative to receive the flow signal and control the valves such that selected inputs of specific liquid fuels are dispensed to at least one of the fuel hoses. In accordance with an exemplary embodiment, the selected inputs of specific liquid fuels may include individual liquid fuels and blended combinations thereof. For example, the specific liquid fuels may include at least two of the following: a first octane gasoline, a second octane gasoline, diesel fuel, biodiesel and ethanol.

Abstract: Apparatus and method are disclosed for converting an internal combustion engine from a normal engine operation (20) to an engine braking (or retarding) operation (10). The engine has an exhaust valve train containing two exhaust valves (300), a valve bridge (400) and an exhaust valve lifter (200). The apparatus has an actuation means (100) including a hydraulic system integrated into the exhaust valve train. The hydraulic system contains a braking piston (160) slidably disposed in the valve bridge between an inoperative position (0) and an operative position (1). In the inoperative position, the braking piston is retracted and the actuation means disengaged from the normal engine operation. In the operative position, the hydraulic piston is extended and the actuation means opens one of the two exhaust valves (300a) for the engine braking operation. The apparatus also includes engine brake reset means (150) for modifying the valve lift profile generated by the enlarged normal cam lobe (220) when the small braking cam lobes (232) and (233) are integrated into the normal exhaust cam (230). The apparatus also has a control means (50) for moving the actuation means between the inoperative position and the operative position.

Abstract: Apparatus for modifying engine valve lift to produce an engine valve event in an internal combustion engine comprises actuation means (100) for operating at least one exhaust valve (300a or 300), and control means (50) for moving the actuation means (100) between its inoperative position (0) and operative position (1). In the inoperative position (0), the actuation means (100) is disengaged from the at least one exhaust valve (300a or 300), and in the operative position (1), the actuation means (100) holds open the at least one exhaust valve (300a or 300) to produce the modified engine valve lift for the engine valve event, which includes an engine braking event (10). The actuation means (100) includes a motion limiting means for controlling movement of the actuation means (100) between the inoperative position (0) and the operative position (1), which occurs after the at least one exhaust valve (300a or 300) is actuated by the normal exhaust valve lifter (200). The actuation means (100) also includes a lash adjusting system for setting a lash (132) between the actuation means (100) and the at least one exhaust valve (300a or 300). The actuation means (100) further includes mechanical linkage means for transmitting load generated by the engine valve event to a housing (125). The mechanical linkage means include at least one system selected from the group consisting of: a rotatable device, a slidable device, a ball-locking device, and a toggle device. The actuation means (100) can be integrated into a valve bridge (400) and other valve train components, such as a rocker arm, wherein a plunger (136) is slidably disposed between the inoperative position (0) and the operative position (1). The control means (50) comprises at least one means selected from the group consisting of: hydraulic means, mechanical means, electric means, magnetic means, and a combination thereof.

Abstract: A system and method for actuating one or more engine valves is provided. In particular, systems and methods for providing variable valve actuation to improve engine performance are provided. Embodiments of the present invention may be used in conjunction with positive power, engine braking, and/or exhaust gas recirculation operation of an internal combustion engine. In one embodiment, the system comprises: a valve train element; a housing disposed intermediate the valve train element and the engine valve; an outer piston slidably disposed in a bore formed in the housing, the outer piston having a cavity formed therein; an inner piston slidably disposed in the outer piston cavity; and a valve in communication with the outer piston cavity, the valve having more than one position, wherein the position of the valve determines the timing of the engine valve event.

Abstract: Lost motion systems and methods for providing engine valves with variable valve actuation for engine valve events are disclosed. The system may include a master piston hydraulically linked to a slave piston, and a dedicated cam operatively connected to the master piston. The slave piston may be disposed substantially perpendicular to the master piston in a common housing. The slave piston is adapted to actuate one or more engine valves. The slave piston may incorporate an optional valve seating assembly into its upper end. A trigger valve may be operatively connected to the master-slave hydraulic circuit to selectively release and add hydraulic fluid to the circuit.
