Abstract:
The disclosure relates to a mobility system. The mobility system has at least one driven exoskeleton for a person. The at least one driven exoskeleton has at least one electronic unit that controls and/or regulates an operating state of the exoskeleton. At least one vehicle has a passenger compartment and at least one mechanical coupling station, which is arranged in the passenger compartment. The exoskeleton can be mechanically coupled to the mechanical coupling station. The vehicle has at least one electronic device, wherein the electronic unit is connectable, via at least one communication connection, to the electronic device.
Abstract:
An exoskeleton comprises at least one load-bearing element including a flexible hose, sleeve or cable having a first end portion and a second end portion opposite the first end portion. The first end portion is engageable with a load and is configured to transfer a weight of the load to the hose, sleeve or cable. The hose, sleeve or cable is configured to transfer the weight of the load from the first end portion to the second end portion, and the second end portion is configured to transfer the weight of the load to a support surface upon which the exoskeleton is supported.
Abstract:
A leg massage apparatus is provided which enables the user to easily and comfortable engage the various muscles of the leg, providing the leg muscles with a therapeutic message which helps to loosen and relieve sore or damages muscles. The apparatus may also be used to assist in the removal of cellulite from areas of the leg. The apparatus is basically comprised of a name structure means, a user engagement means, a coupling means, and an optional resistance means. The frame structure means has at least two main support members coupled together in such a manner that the leg of the user may be placed within, with the main support members surrounding a significant portion of the leg. The main support members are adjustably coupled together by the coupling means such that they may alternatively move away and towards one another, as the various leg muscles of the user are being engaged by the user engagement means. The optional resistance means may be used to provide motion resistance.
Abstract:
A cervical traction device includes a base assembly having a sled frame and a sled assembly that is adapted to move along the sled frame. The cervical traction device includes a left halter support that is attached to the sled assembly and a right halter support that is attached to the sled assembly. A head halter is adapted to be removably attached to the left halter support and the right halter support. The head halter includes a suspension strap for supporting the patient's neck. A linear actuator is attached between the base assembly and the sled assembly and adapted to move the sled assembly along the sled frame.
Abstract:
A massage apparatus includes a sheet member attachable to a skin of a body, and a pressure unit that presses the skin from the sheet member. The sheet member is elastic and thermoplastic such that the sheet member is hardened at a temperature of the skin and is softened at a predetermined temperate different from the temperature of the skin. The sheet member has one or more indications indicating an area of the skin to which the sheet member is to be attached. The pressure unit applies a pressure to the skin so as to provide a predetermined pressure distribution in which positions of the pressure distribution are defined with reference to one or more positions on the body in a situation in which the sheet member is attached to the area.
Abstract:
Devices, systems and methods are described which control blood pressure and nervous system activity by stimulating baroreceptors. By selectively and controllably activating baroreceptors and/or nerves, the present invention reduces blood pressure and alters the sympathetic nervous system; thereby minimizing deleterious effects on the heart, vasculature and other organs and tissues. A baroreceptor activation device or other sensory activation device is positioned near a dermal bone to provide the treatment.
Abstract:
It is disclosed an apparatus for restoring voluntary control of locomotion in a subject suffering from a neuromotor impairment comprising a multidirectional trunk support system and a device for epidural electrical stimulation. The robotic interface is capable of evaluating, enabling and training motor pattern generation and balance across a variety of natural walking behaviors in subjects with neuromotor impairments. Optionally, pharmacological cocktails can be administered to enhance rehabilitation results. It is also disclosed a method for the evaluation, enablement and training of a subject suffering from neuromotor impairments by combining robotically assisted evaluation tools with sophisticated neurobiomechanical and statistical analyses. A method for the rehabilitation (by this term also comprising restoring voluntary control of locomotion) of a subject suffering from a neuromotor impairment in particular partial or total paralysis of limbs, is also disclosed.
