Abstract: The present invention describes a mixture comprising carbonaceous raw material of low value as a fuel and a nanocatalyst. The catalytic mixture comprises from 1% to 50% by weight of a nanocatalyst; and from 99% to 50% by weight of carbonaceous raw material selected from petroleum coke, coal, heavy residual fraction of oil, or a mixture thereof. The nanocatalyst comprises a carbon nanomaterial of between 99.99% and 80% by weight in contents and at least one alkali metal of between 0.01% and 20% by weight in contents, based on the total weight of the nanocatalyst, and the specific surface area of the nanocatalyst ranges between 400 and 1300 m2/g. Furthermore, the present invention also describes a process for gasifying the catalytic mixture which comprises the steps of placing the mixture in a gasifier; heating the mixture in the presence of an oxidizing agent selected from air, pure oxygen, carbon dioxide, water vapor, or a mixture thereof at a temperature ranging between 200 and 1,300° C.; and obtaining a gaseous product comprising H2, CO, CO2, CH4.

The alumina support for a catalyst for a gas-phase reaction has a tubular shape with at least one hollow through hole and a BET specific surface area of 140 to 280 m2/g. In this alumina support, a volume (total pore volume) of pores with a diameter of not less than 15 nm and not more than 20000 nm is 0.04 to 0.15 cm3/g, and a volume of pores with a diameter of not less than 1000 nm and not more than 20000 nm is 0.02 cm3/g or less, as measured by the mercury intrusion technique, and a tapped bulk density is 620 to 780 g/L.

Abstract: A selective hydrogenation catalyst contains an active phase having a group VIB metal and a group VIII metal, and a porous support containing alumina. The group VIB metal content is between 1 and 18% by weight relative to total weight of the catalyst, and the group VIII metal content of the active phase, measured in oxide form, is between 1 and 20% by weight relative to total weight of the catalyst. The molar ratio between the group VIII metal and the group VIB metal is between 1.0 and 3.0 mol/mol. The group VIII metal is homogeneously distributed in the porous support with a distribution coefficient R of between 0.8 and 1.2, measured using a Castaing microprobe, and the group VIB metal is distributed at the periphery of the porous support with a distribution coefficient R of less than 0.8.

Abstract: Embodiments disclosed herein include a process for producing paraxylene and catalyst for use in processes for producing paraxylene. The alkylation catalyst comprises at least one of a rare earth metal or alkaline earth metal and a binder, and a majority of the at least one rare earth metal or alkaline earth metal is deposited on the molecular sieve. In addition, the process includes producing an alkylated aromatic product comprising xylenes.
