摘要： A novel battery container that can be obtained by welding plated steel sheets, has sufficient sealing ability over a long period of time, and is able to keep the base material of the plated steel sheets from being exposed and eluting into the electrolyte solution is provided. That is, a battery case comprised of a container body and a container lid, wherein the container body and the container lid are each comprised of a plated steel sheet, a joint part between the container and the container lid is comprised of a plating welded part containing a main constituent component of the plating of the plated steel sheet in 60 mass% or more and a steel sheet welded part containing the main constituent component of the plating in less than 60 mass%, and the plating welded part has a length of 0.5 µm or more and less than 1.0 mm in a joint longitudinal direction.

摘要： A novel wound electrode assembly for a lithium oxyhalide electrochemical cell is described. The electrode assembly comprises an elongate cathode of an electrochemically non-active but electrically conductive carbonaceous material disposed between an inner elongate portion and an outer elongate portion of a unitary lithium anode. That way, lithium faces the entire length of the opposed major sides of the cathode. This inner anode portion/cathode/outer anode portion configuration is rolled into a wound-shaped electrode assembly that is housed inside a cylindrically-shaped casing. A cylindrically-shaped sheet-type spring centered in the electrode assembly presses outwardly to limit axial movement of the electrode assembly. In one embodiment, all the non-active components, except for the cathode current collector, which is nickel, are made of stainless-steel. This provides the cell with a low magnetic signature without adversely affecting the cell's high-rate capability.

In the cylindrical cell, an aluminum terminal of a cap component is welded with an aluminum current collector, a copper terminal of the cap component is welded with a first copper current collector which is connected to a copper component; the copper component is at least partly configured on a lateral surface of the jellyroll structure and is isolated from the aluminum current collector. Therefore, the thickness of the cell housing is decreased and an energy gravimetric and volumetric density of the cell is increased.

摘要： Disclosed are a battery housing and a battery. The battery housing includes a bottom shell and a cover. The cover includes an outer contact layer, an insulating layer, and an inner contact layer. The electrode connecting portion of the inner contact layer is electrically connected to one pole of the battery cell. The other pole of the battery cell is electrically connected to the bottom shell. Since the inner contact layer and the outer contact layer are insulated through the insulating layer, the bottom shell is also insulated from the inner contact layer, thereby preventing the two electrodes of the battery cell from being mutually connected and short-circuited. Since the inner contact layer and the outer contact layer of the cover are pre-insulated, the insulating film is not needed, thereby simplifying the packaging process of the battery and improving the packaging efficiency.
